★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a lovely garden restaurant which serve authentic bangladeshi dishes...
I went there on a get together and thus tried a number of dishes ..
Starting with different vorta (what we called bata ) to chiken and mutton dishes everything was lipsmackingly delicious..
We started with rosun kalojira vorta followed by chingri ,shil e bata loitya and chicken vorta.these were very much spicey yet very tasty.among this loitya was on top...
Among mains I had dhakai dom pulao along with fish rezala and dhakai chicken
Roast followed by mutton kala bhuna...
Pulao had a light aroma of cinnamon and what I loved the most was chicken roast...soft and juicy chicken in a thick white gravy was more like our chiken rezala but there was a kick of mustered oil and beresta gave it a distinct taste...
Mutton kala bhuna was good too but it was a bit spiecy and rich in oil.
And to wash off all these i had a glass of chilled borhani . mint ,curd in it gave a very refreshing feel.
At the end we had sahi jarda and jarda semai which was completely different from our regular sweet.
Overall it was great experience..

Food quantity is extremely scanty. I ordered Shibata platter and this is the quantity they served. Not even a spoonful of each item.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our favorite delivery joint, Dhakai Handi is now here with their brand new open air dining outlet and I couldn't be happier. It is possibly the first open air restaurant of North Kolkata located near Binayak Enclave, Sinthee. The place can be easily accessed from both Sinthee More and Dumdum station.
The dining area is a garden, adorned with fairy lights and plants. The decor is in keeping with their theme, Dhakai.
With it's cozy yet vibrant ambience, this place is perfect for hosting small parties, picnics and ofcourse for dining. It can accommodate about 20-25 people at a time.
As for the food, I loved the following from their menu:
1. SHEEL-E-BAATA PLATTER ----- RECOMMENDED! It consists of steamed rice and four variants of sheel-e-baata, i.e., Murgi, Chingri, Lotte and Kali Jeera Roshun (respective ingredients made into a paste and fried with spices. The variants available are Chicken, Prawn, Bombay Duck, Black cumin and garlic). Each of the four tastes heavenly with steaming hot rice and was the perfect start to a hearty meal.
2. MOROG (Chicken) PULAO ---- RECOMMENDED! It was served in a handi (earthen pot) with side of Dim (egg) Rezala and Borhani. The Biryani was light yet packed with flavor and had a brilliant aroma of ghee. Also, the Borhani was beyond perfect, had just the right balance of sweet-sour-spicy. A must try!
3. CHINGRI QORMA ----- RECOMMENDED! It is made with Prawn meat balls, fried and cooked in a semisweet gravy. It pairs perfectly with their Pulaos.
4. KATLA MAACH ER QORMA: Another excellent choice of side dish to go with steamed rice. The fish was fresh, cooked in a sweet gravy with raisins and spices.
Some other dishes that deserve mention are, Puran Dhaka'r Kachhi Biryani, Mutton Kala Bhuna, Dhakai Chicken Roast.
The dishes were absolutely lipsmacking and quite authentic in terms of flavor.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time here with great food, ambience and service.
Highly Recommending Dhakai Handi to all the people craving good quality Bangladeshi food!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really loved some of their Bangladeshi delicacies. The Chattogram-er Sheel-e-bata Murgi and Dhakai Dum Pulao is amazing. Apart from these, Dhakai Bhuna Murg and Dhakai Chicken Roast are truly awesome for your tastebuds. The traditional drink of Bangladesh, namely Borhani is provided by the restaurant as a complementary one.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went there for Poyla Baisakh celebration, with the purpose of having a dine out. But the starting was disappointing for us as their dine out option is not available now. They only provide delivery or take away. So we decided to take away the desired food from there. We ordered sheel e bata Murgi, sheel e Bata Chingri, Dhakai Katla maach er korma, Dhakai Chicken Korma, Borhani. Each of the items was just fantastic. The quantity was also adequate. The sheel e Bata items were too hot, but the taste was really good. A must must must try restaurant for those who hunker for Authentic Bangladeshi cuisines ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came here for dine in on the day of nababarsha. We were all dressed up, Guided by the YouTube videos and google. But after coming here we saw they offer no dine in. Only delivery by zomato, swiggy and by the restaurant itself. So we took delivery.
But the dishes were sooooooo good. Authentic bangladeshi items. We ordered sheel e bata murgi, sheel e bata chingri, kochu pata chingri bhapa, chicken kosha, katla kalia. All the dishes were awesome. Must try. They gave us a complementary borhani, which also was too good. I'm in love with this restaurant.
