Not many people, even the inhabitants, know about the actual name of it, the merely call it the Mahaprabhu Paara, where the temple is located. Devotional place-Gouranga Mahaprabhu is seen to be asking from the people something (bhiksha)-and the thing is bhakti (devotion).

The historical Idol of Sree Chaitanya dev that has been made during His life time dates back to over 500 years and made by the same neem tree wood where Nimai (Sri Chaitanya) had taken birth which was commissioned by His wife Srimati Vishnu Priya Devi....the idol has a nose ring attached to His nose that was worn by Priya ji herself and said to have dissapeared within the daru idol (wooden idol) of Dhameshwar Mahaprabhu. The temple also houses one of the only 3 wooden sandals worn by Sri Chaitanya that he gifted Priyaji.

A magic and transcendental place where an incarnation of the Divine was born. Located in Eka Chakra Dham, West Bengal. If you want to experience a pure and traditional bengali village, coming here is the best place. Jay Nitay!!!

"After Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu accepted the sannyasa order, His wife, Vishnupriya, who was only 16 yrs old at the time, remained in seclusion and chanted Hare Krsna day and night. After some time Mahaprabhu somehow gave her this Deity of Himself (made from neem wood) which was the first Deity of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu ever established. Visnu-priya used to daily worship Mahaprabhu's wooden shoes and this Deity, weeping bitterly and talking with Caitanya Mahaprabhu, and He would also speak to her in the form of that Deity." Excerpt of a lecture given by Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Goswami Maharaja in Murwillumbah, Australia, February 17, 2002 ------- "Caitanya Mahaprabhu danced in mahabhava in Mayapura. There was a neem tree at His house in Mayapura. This tree accepted Mahaprabhu's beautiful form in its heart when He danced in the bliss of sankirtana. When Mahaprabhu left, having taken sannyasa, then this neem tree manifested a beautiful Deity of Mahaprabhu. Visnupriya saw that Mahaprabhu came out of this neem tree and the neem tree disappeared. She took Mahaprabhu in her arms and began worshipping Him, offering Him bhoga, and so forth. And her separation was in this way relieved." Excerpt from the book 'Sri Sri Prema-bhakti Candrika' by Bhaktabandhav Books

Place where Chaitanya mahaprabhu carved his own idol from neem tree trunk, before leaving house and taking sanyas (renunciation), and gave it to her wife vishnupriya...who is said to have worshipped it and later merged in the same idol... Her nose rings is seen dangling by the nose of the idol..
