This bridge was built on 21st July, 1995 (4th Sraban,1402 Bangabda) and was inaugurated by the West Bengal minister (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways) Khiti Goswami. This is an important national highway which connects the south bengal and north bengal.The number of this highway is 34 but now it is NH 12.This bridge is a vantage point to observe the beautiful serpentine river Jalangi and the fluvial city Krishnagar The authority does not take care of the bridge and if they do take any prompt action the bridge may collapse.
