परकोटा में होलिका दहन की शुरुआत सिटी पैलेस से होती है। पीढिय़ा बदल गईं, लेकिन मान्यता आज भी वही है। यहां परकोटा के मोहल्लों से लोग इक_े होते हैं। पूर्व राजपरिवार के सदस्य पूजा-पाठ करने के बाद होलिका दहन करते हैं। इसके बाद से यहां मौजूद लोग उस आग में डंडा जलाकर भागते हैं। ये लोग अपने मोहल्ले में रखी होली में आग लगाते हैं। यह दृश्य सालों से ऐसा ही चला आ रहा है।
