★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In January 2022, during the annual body check at the reputable hospital in Kolkata, I got a sonography done for my father. Reports suggested that he has a gall bladder stone. I was not keen on getting an operation done in Kolkata. We moved to Mumbai and visited Dr Ketul Shah in Apollo Hospital, Navi Mumbai.
Since the first consultation, Dr Ketul was very proficient, soft-spoken and was exemplifying everything calmly. Dr Ketul recommended getting Sonography repeated. Sonography reports did not show a stone but a small body mass was seen on the neck of the gall bladder. Further as advised by Dr Ketul, a CT scan of the abdomen was carried out which further affirmed a body mass on the neck of the gall bladder.
Dr Ketul reported that this can be the initial stages of gall bladder cancer and suggested a PET CT scan, S. CEA & S. CA19-9 test to be done. After these test reports Dr Ketul briefed us that Radical Cholecystectomy will be performed on my father.
My father got admitted to Apollo Hospital on 14th March 2022 and surgery was performed on 15th March 2022. Gall bladder, a small portion of liver and a few lymph nodes were removed and sent for histopathology.
My father got discharged from the hospital 6 days post-surgery.
Histopathology reported stage II cancer of the gall bladder.
Dr Ketul informed me that my father is out of danger as all the cancerous cells have been removed from his body. Advised to consult oncologists for oral chemotherapy.
I would like to appreciate Dr Ketul's experienced approach. While handling our condition professionally, he made sure that there was no communication barrier between doctor and patient. His coordination with other doctors such as Radiologists, Cardiologists, anaesthesiologists, Nutritionists, and Oncologists was spot on. He made sure we understand each and every step of treatment.
My father underwent a supermajor surgery and he has defeated cancer. Now after 6 more months of oral chemotherapy medications, my father will be free from all worries.
Gall bladder cancer is very aggressive and generally doesn't get detected until the fourth stage. Dr Ketul's instantaneous and skilled approach seized my father's cancer in the second stage and made my father defeat cancer. Dr Ketul has given my father a second life.
I will always be grateful to Dr Ketul Shah for his skills and professionalism.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was admitted to Apollo Hospital, Belapur on 1st Jan 22 in emergency as CT Scan showed my appendix was ruptured and I needed immediate surgery. Dr. Ketul Shah had visited me in the night around 2330hrs to assess my condition and decided to operate on me on the next morning. He briefed me and my father in detail about all the available options of the surgery and made us feel comfortable. I was operated on 2nd Jan 22 which lasted for 6hrs. It was complicated as infection was spread in my abdomen and intestines were damaged. I thank Dr Ketul Shah who not only made the surgery easy but made us comfortable throughout hospitalisation. He regularly visited me in my ward, boosted my confidence and was available on phone round the clock. He is a very good human being and an excellent doctor. If any one has issues related to gastro-intestinal, gall blader, liver or colo-rectal, I will definately suggest to get in touch with Dr. Ketul Shah. I thank him for the support and care he provided me during hospitalisation and post discharge.
