★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr. Subhankar Chowdhury is not only one of the best endocrinologist but a gentleman with a good personality also.
His high demand has forced him to set 3 types of fees category according to appointment.
He treats his hospital patients as likely as the chamber patients irrespective of fees.
I am feeling well under his treatment for Thyroid problems since 1998 i.e., for 20 years.
I wish his long and healthy life.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best endocrinologists Kolkata has seen!! He has been treating my mom for Type 2 Diabetes since last 10 years with absolutely no complains/side effects from her side. With a vast knowledge in the field, he provides accurate diagnosis and treatment and also sees every patient for a long time thus never missing any minor detail in patient's clinical history. Extremely humble and down to earth!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was not at all satisfied with his diagnosis and treatment of thyroid. I have had weight issues since class 6 (2008) due to hypothyroidism and pcos. I had booked an appointment with him on recommendation of one of my family members. His professional fees was 600 as was stated by our relative. When we reached the hospital where he tends to his patients, we got to the actual check up after 3 hours of the alloted time. On gaining knowledge of my father's profession, his professional fees surprisingly hiked to rs. 800. Every patient who went into his chamber came out after a minimum of 45-50 mins, whereas i was in his chamber for hardly 10 mins. His diagnosis is an 'indirect way of treatment' whereby he refers his patients to several other physicians and dieticians for the treatment. Bonus point: If you are a first time patient of his, he will write down a list of blood tests and other tests such as ECG and liver function, etc, every other test that a layman has possibly heard of in his entire life. At least that was the condition in my case, that too for the treatment of hypothyroidism only. The only test he probably left out by mistake was a CT Scan.
All said, this was his treatment towards my thyroid disorder. And this incident happened in 2011 or 2012. I have never visited him for treatment since nor followed his medications ever.
Besides, in my view, if a patient has to visit her doctor for a stretch of 10/20 years to treat one disorder, the treatment is probably not right.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ His practice is run absolutely unethical way. If you call and ask for an appointment, you will be given a date 90 days from current date and you need to pay Rs 1000 (existing patients) or Rs 1500 (if you are new patient). Why ? Because you are cattle class ("aam admi"). But wait, there is a provision for RAC (reservation against cancellation) but then you need call a number everyday (that's right everyday !!) to get to the RAC and if you are lucky, you have to pay Rs 1500. But wait, there is a "Tatkaal" also ! He will be at your disposal anytime if you are ready to pay Rs 3000 !!
You will get absolutely rude behavior from his assistants (class 10 fails) whose only job is to note down your name.
Unless you have lot of money (Rs 3000 to be precise) or lot of patience (3 months waiting), find another doctor.
