★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I did take a family member to see him quite recently for a minor ailment and was treated quite kindly. But my observation about the other reviews is that it is not a good sign when Fortis responds to every good review with a prompt thanks, but does not respond to any negative review. They should be addressing all negative reviews quite transparently.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dr Upal Sengupta, one of the best nephrologists near me with a very sound knowledge on chronic renal diseases, is not only a responsible doctor but also a polite and friendly person. My cousin is under his supervision for more than a year with kidney injury and he is doing well now a days. I do want to express my gratitude for saving my buddy's life.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've never had the experience of meeting a Nephrologist before also I'm not a doctor btw... knowledge I can't judge but all I can do is compare services offered and treatment differences...First time I met this doctor...my father was on wheel chair.... doctor gave him 'bombastic' tests that were to come after 7 or more days, required 14900 rupees...sooner after my father lost his mobility and got bedridden and was admitted under him...the 'bombastic' reports had not arrived (most of them yet now)...under him treatment was 'dialysis', twice and diagnosed kidney failure...patient condition worsened..,I had to rush south with my father...the nephrologists here asked me why he had been given dialysis...the put two stents in his kidneys and saved both of them....for almost a week now he did not require any dialysis and his kidney conditions are improving...doctors here wanted his number to ask him what treatment was done on the patient and the number I did not have! Very unfortunate that we boast of the medical capabilities of kolkata...and such doctors!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Basically it is a zero star review. Doctor wont talk to you much. If you ask any question he wont answer in a proper way. Also he gave medicine to my mother only to increase creatinine level and bring her near to dialysis which was not required at all. Worst experience and a big mistake to go visit him in Fortis Hospital.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst Doctor ever seen,I admitted my mother in Fortis under him having a mild infection, but he unnecessary admitted the patient to ICU just to increase the bill and released after 3 days with out any treatment....Upal Sengupta is a cheater don't fall in his trap....
