β β β β β Nice small Italian restaurant. Tastefully decorated with nice ambience. It was almost empty when we went for Sunday lunch. Food pressentation was great but taste was something which need improvement. Pizza needs improvement. Risotto was ok. Prices are reasonable. Overall average experience

What stands out - Mexican dishes
Went here with my dad for a dinner at around 8:00 pm on a weeknight. The place was fairly empty but people started coming in later. They have cute seating mostly on the first floor. Only two tables and kitchen on the ground floor along with large flamingo statue. The place is very well made. The service was pretty good. The servers knew dishes in detail. The seating is very comfortable and spacious though tables are pretty close to each other. Its a narrow space with tables on either side though no complaints.
My recommendations will be to try Mexican dishes. This is not to say Italian is any poor but Mexican dishes are especially outstanding. My favorite dish of the night was the big burrito. They unfortunately dont have many options in mocktails and only drink on the menu was fresh lime soda / water. The portion size is pretty large especially of the mains. They also had only one dessert chocolate fondant the night we visited.
We called for the following dishes
1. Corn and Jalepenos soup - 9/10
2. Fresh guacamole crostini (bruschettas) - 9/10
3. Jalepenos poppers - 8/10
4. Big Burrito - 10/10
5. Gnocchi - 9/10
6. Chocolate Fondant - 9/10
7. Fresh lime soda sweet - 10/10
All in all this is a pretty good veg place in town. It is however tad too expensive but definitely worth a visit.

β β β β β EPL: Eat Pray Luv is a relatively new all vegetarian restaurant opened in Opera House / Charni Road area. You can locate this place next to Shiv Krishna Hotel. The place opened in January of this year. The management and ownership of both these restaurant belongs to the same group, which means a lot of credibility and experience on board already. EPL Ristorante is a small but cute restaurant serving Italian & Mexican cuisine. The restaurant has worked hard on the ambiance, right from the interiors, to its music to its menu to its cutlery! You get a good vibe on entering the restaurant. They have also worked really hard on the food and its presentation.
A special mention for the staff - Mr. Nirmal Gomez (the restaurant manager) was with us through our meal and was extremely courteous and helpful in suggesting what we must try!
Coming straight to what we ordered at EPL: Most of things that we tried here were Must haves, so you will find a lot of this written in my review!
We started our meal with the chef's special and recommended dish - The Three Cheese Garlic Bread with Jalapeno. You will not find Jalapenos on top of the garlic bread which would be the usual case, but it is served on the side. It will give you a feel of a Murabba as it is sweet. Must try!
Next we tried the Jalapeno and Cheese Fritters - again beautifully presented! Difficult to go wrong with something which is fried, but you still need to get it right! A perfect snack or appetizer that you should try at EPL! Must try!
I must say, EPL has limited options in terms of drinks, they offer basic drinks since they don't serve mocktails as well. They have a variety of teas and coffees that you can also try. You can go for the Fresh Lime or ask for Mint base drink. Both are nice and refreshing, especially in this heat!
Next we tried the Totes. They offer Totes in Mushroom as well as Spinach and Corn.Β I being a Mushroom lover, preference and recommendation would be to have the Mushroom Totes, but incase you don't eat mushrooms, the spinach and corn one is a very good substitute. Being an Italian restaurant, they serve pizzas and pastas as well. I wasn't in the mood to have either, but have heard a lot about their Pasta specially. Their Arabiattas and their Agliolio pasta in mushroom sauce is something that I have heard about. So you can definitely try these as well.
Post the Totes, we tried the Tacos. At EPL, you will get Open tacos, and not in the regular U shaped tortilla chips. You get options for the filling within. We tried the retired black beans option. Yum and something that you should try.
We finally moved to the mains and ordered couple of them - Cannelloni of Roasted Vegetables, Goat Cheese and Spicy Tomato Sauce and the Mushroom Quesadillas with Cilantro Rice. I loved both of these dishes, good portions and quite filling. First one - baked dish with cylindrical pasta, veggies and spicy sauce! Awesome combination. A special mention to the Mushroom Quesadillas presented beautifully and the mushroom filling was too good! Mushroom Lovers, cant miss out on this dish.
Finally for dessert, we ordered the Chocolate Fondant. Choco Lava Cake is served with Vanilla ice-cream.Β Drool-worthy, something that cant be missed again! Must try!
Overall, a great experience. As mentioned earlier, good vibes as soon as you enter and the experience is enhanced with good food and good service. Do visit this place, especially the vegetarians, highly recommended!

β β β β β I was invited by the restaurant to try out some of the dishes from their menu. So I went with a friend on a Sunday afternoon, well, almost evening. It was almost 3pm by the time we reached there. Since the top floor was too crowded, we decided to take one of the two tables on the lower floor.
Let's start with the food. So we started out with three cheese garlic bread with jalepenos and Jalapeno and cheese fritters. I must say, the portion sizes turned out to be unexpectedly large, especially, given the price point. The three cheese garlic bread with jalapeno was served with a spicy-sweet dipping sauce which was delicious; even the bread was quite delicious in itself. The jalapeno and cheese fritters were also great - loved the fact that we could do the cheese pull on each and every fritter, even after they sat on the table for a while. Then we ordered the Watermelon and feta cheese salad - although I've never been a fan of this particular combination - turns out, I'd never had the real deal - I loved it here. The sweet-sour-creamy feta cheese greatly complemented the water-crunchy texture of the watermelon. I even liked the presentation the watermelon and feta cheese salad. For main course, the maitre'd suggested that we try the fiamma pizza - which just had onions as the toppings. It was a thin crust pizza which was baker very well - even their signature pizza sauce was great. The best part was that the cheese was perfectly balanced and complemented the taste of the pizza rather than overpowering the entire taste of the pizza. The pizza tasted even more delicious with the chilli oil that was already at the table. We also ordered a lemon soda and a red velvet shake and honestly, the shake could have been better, it felt quite watered down. For desserts, we ordered avocado ice cream and chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream. The avocado ice cream was delicious although the chocolate lava cake could have been a little better - but then again, since it was way over their normal service time - I can't blame them either.
The decor and the ambiance is great - I definitely loved the vibe and feel of the place - it's warm, welcoming vibe. Although the height of the upper floor is a little short for me, I had to carefully dodge the cross beams. Although the tables and chairs are quite comfortable, plush, and quite ergonomic.
Another aspect that I loved about this place is the service - the attendant was very careful about whatever we asked, and made sure that we were comfortable, and had everything we needed. He knew his way around the menu quite well, and was able to suggest dishes keeping in mind our preferences. Another great aspect was the time it took to prepare the dish that we ordered - the service was quite prompt. Moreover, after every dish, the busser came around and asked to change the plates and the tableware without having been summoned - which is quite rare even for the most lavish of the restaurants.

β β β β β Eat.Pray.Love. Pretty much the story of every foodie. A lovely food outlet, Eat Pray Luv is located at Churni Road and is a vegetarian outlet serving some of the best Italian and Mexican dishes in South Bombay. With shimmery lights and a unique entrance, the ambience here is a lot more cozy. The outlet has a ground floor section that has a mini bakery serving delicious pastries along with the top floor having a spacious seating arrangement. The outlet seemed to radiate relaxing vibes and the soft music was an added credit to this.
The menu pretty much had soups, small plates, appetizers , some mains and my favorite the wood fired pizzas. I started off with the Alfredo Pasta and fellas I must add it was relishing indeed. The three cheese garlic bread was yet another delight I enjoyed . With regards to the quantity, it was a tummy filling one. Lastly for the dessert I had was the Chocolate fondant!
The staff here was really great providing quick and satisfactory service. I definitely would recommend this place if one visits South Bombay!
