This park was a jail previously.. well maintained... gives us a glimpse in to life of jail inmates... many opposition leaders were also imprisoned here during the emergency... and the same was inaugurated by opposition leader L K Advani..

Nice place but not maintained well. They are not switching on the lights during darkness.

Lovely open space in the heart of the city. Great to see a lot of the old buildings preserved and restored. Some of the statues, randomly distributed, are creepy!

Good Place for an evening Break & for the kids to run around.. A Walk in this park is refreshing & calm.. Free Entry & Parking.. Have Toilets - but none of them operational.. Average maintained.. Difficult to get Central Jail feeling, which this place was in the past.

Not really worth visiting as a tourist spot. But for residents in the nearby areas, this can be a good place to relax. It has a small walking track and gym. There is a kid's play area too. There are barracks, old hospital used by the jailers in the past and jail rooms which can be visited inside the park. Some other areas were locked and could only be seen through the grills. There are a few local vendors selling snacks outside the park(ice creams, sweet corn and gol gappe) as well.

Bangalore Central jail is converted to Freedom park. There is kids playing area, court room, barracks, amphitheatre. Nice place to visit to experience all these

Good park for morning walks , originally it was a jail under British administration. Freedom fighters and political personalities of those time were kept here

A very well maintained park, the garden was colourful with flowers and red coloured bushes, and cherry blossoms. It was formerly a prison complex, which was later converted to a park. But the prisons here are locked, so one can't go inside to have a closer look. The prison hospital was also closed when we went. It also has a mini gym, and visiting here at evening 4 to 5.30 is best! A good place for photoshoots, and there is sufficient parking space. The place is also a favourite for conducting protests and exhibitions
