★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the oldest temple in the city, a must visit for anyone visiting the area. Some of the stores around the temple are as old as the temple itself. Adjoining the booking office area of the station makes it an easy access for commuters to offer prayers on the go. In the 80s and 90s, huge Ganesh pandals were setup for celebrating Ganesh puja.

The Ganesha idol in the temple is Shri Karpaga Vinayakar - a popular form of Lord Ganesha seen in temples of Tamil Nadu. Special alankar is offered to the Lord on Tuesdays. During Ganesh chaturthi, the temple attracts many devotees.
