It is an important railway station between Varanasi and Ballia. Earlier diesel engines were used here but now all the lines and the station itself has been electrified. The Ghazipur City Railway Station is situated in the Main City Area of Ghazipur which is popularly known as Lanka and the Station Road Lies in Malgodam Road, Ghazipur. The Railway Station is having WiFi facility and Rake handling facility with Washing Pit, Loco Maintenance and other facilities. The station lies in the North Eastern Railway Zone , Gorakhpur under Varanasi City Division.
