Retail Outlet Covid-19 Risk Mitigation Initiative Monitoring

Our country is battling the Covid-19 crisis, along with other countries, which has been declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization due to its global impact. Nations across the world have undertaken numerous measures as per their individual requirements, to contain the spread of the disease created by the virus

Sale of Petrol/Diesel from Retail Outlets has been exempted from the Covid-19 lockdown, given the essential nature of these products to keep the wheels of the administration and other critical sectors running, for dealing with the situation. HPCL Retail Outlets (RO) have been at the forefront in this regard, with our field office team comprising of employees, the Dealers, Managers, FSMs( Forecourt Sales Man), Housekeeping staff, Security etc., performing their duty during this difficult period, for ensuring continuity in the product supply and related services at retail outlets across the country. Many dealers with their teams have also been helping the community by providing food to TT crews, truck crews carrying essential goods, the migrant labor and the underprivileged, in addition to fueling services.

Safeguarding the health and lives of the Retail Outlet(RO) personnel is of paramount importance, and it is necessary to inculcate the health safety practices amongst them, and also motivate them to diligently implement the necessary health safety precautions to be followed by each individual at the RO while performing their assigned duties at the retail outlet.

The recommended methodology for ensuring the consistent implementation of the best practices in regard for mitigating the Covid-19 risk has been put in place. Also, safety processes at the ROs at specific geography and state jurisdictions, based on the local ecosystem and area specific needs have been implemented.

As an acknowledgement of the services being rendered by our esteemed dealers’ staff across India, it has been decided to implement an Ex-Gratia scheme for an amount of Rs 5,00,000/- (Rs. Five Lakhs only) to be paid to the dependents of the Retail outlet staff, in the unfortunate event of the person’s death due to Covid-19.
