★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Purva Pangat: Calling all sea food lovers!
In a place brimming with many Malvani joints, the not-so-fancy Hotel Purva Pangat in Dadar West does make its presence felt.
The interiors are not fancy or swanky but who cares when the food is the real winner!
I happened to accidently discover the place on a Monday because all the other Malwani places in Dadar West are shut on that day.
And I was certainly left pleasantly surprised and believe they are not far behind their more famous neighbours Gomantak or Achrekar Malwani Katta when it comes to Malwani style sea food preparations.
We ordered the Surmai Fry Thali and Bangda Fry thali along with bhakri. The Surmai Rawa Fry was a big flat slice of the fish crisply fried and you could feel the freshness of the fish, while the big fried piece of Bangda was also upto the mark, fried perfectly with the right amount of masala.
The fish gravy served along with the thali was so good that we each had around 3-4 refills, and we were not charged anything extra.
You are served green chilly coconut chutney along with Sol Kadi in the thali.
The place has been in existence for the last 15 years but doesn't enjoy the same publicity as some of the other famous Malwani sea food places in the area, but you should definitely try it once.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place. Clean environment. Cooperative staff. Taste is good. Reasonable price. Prefer to eat seafood here. Though rest food items are also good at taste but sea food recommended. See to it that you will reach here by 14:30 as closes by 15:00.

I tried mutton there and it was delicious and very well cooked.
They have nice cleanliness despite of small place. Decent staff. Timing are mentioned for evening are from 6 pm to 11 pm but it opens around 7.30PM.
Solkadhi is very tastey. Unlike other lunch homes there thali is very limited but sufficient for one person.
It is slightly overpriced.
After having food don't miss paanwala near to Gomantak.
