★ ★ ★ ★ ★ i have opted for home loan from IDBI when no other bank was offering me a loan due to the status of the property, i m thankful for the same, however, as a bank or financial institution, it is painful to deal.
for example, when i applied for loan, bank rate of interest was 7.25% however, when i got the document i realised that the rate of interest mentioned was 7.45%, upon asking questions of why and how, i did not got a satisfactory answer and i have to live with it for number of years as i had no other option left with me
years later, when market rate of interest fall down, i asked the bank what happened, they said you need to apply for lowering the bank rate however, when it increases, they never seek customer permission before doing so
finally, i applied for a top up loan and i realised that nothing has changed over the period of 12 years . it is equally painful, staff is fancy but ineffective, they dont have documentation for processes, they assume a lot of things and does not update customers even if you ask them multiple times to do the same .
i dealt with the paschim vihar branch and it seems like after studying from a premier institute, employees forgot the very basics of what they have learnt and they just believe in being busy by doing the same work a multiple times. and that too with a lot of follow ups
given an option, i would not recommend the bank for anything worthwhile, besides if you want to maintain a saving bank account and that too by visiting branch, than it is perfect else try another bank

Will try to sell you insurance services and will steal your money.
Even simple problem or query they cant solve and put the blame on backend
