One of the best museums in india. It has several interesting displays and needs a clear 3hours to look completely. Please do pay extra for photography. The highlight is the collection of stone architecture and statues.

I confess that this is the best museum in India I have visited so far, if you are planning to visit this museum please be sure that at least you reserve your half-day. The Museum has so many sections like geography, geology, rock science, human revolution, Indian history, aqua life, garments of India, etc. You can smell the history everywhere inside the museum. The Museum is too vast and huge that if you love history you will enjoy it more and more. They charge extra for cameras but I must say that it’s worth spending that extra money to get some amazing clicks with lifetime memories. When I visited it, it was undergoing some renovation and some of the parts of the museum were closed.

Great museum with huge collection. Truly the biggest museum in India. Collection and variety is incomparable with other museums. One can’t even complete the whole museum in a day if we focus on every items. Better to start early in the day to have a detailed view of the museum. But can get a little boring for people who r not into knowledge of history.

One of the largest museums in India with varied sections. A great choice for high school and secondary school students to see the things they have learnt. It would be great to have a guided tour via app like they do in some other museums so that everyone can understand the history behind the displayed artifacts. It has a decent cafeteria for refreshments and food.

This is the largest museum of India and is very worth visiting. Very informative place specially the evolution of life section. Quite nicely curated and exhibited. Building was under going some renovation/restoration work because of which it was a bit chaotic in aesthetics with all scaffoldings. Do not carry anything controversial in your bags here, they do a thorough scan checking at entrance.
