I waited for a whole week for a formal intimation of the same, and kept calling them for a month just to hear from the HR that the position went on hold.. what kind of professionalism is this

I have been working here for more than 3 years now and it never happened that salary has been delayed or so! These are the signs of companies for whom employees are the first priority, this in indeed worth appreciating, since most of us are only bread winner of our families! Lots of Learning opportunities, Good work Culture, Transparent Management, Great work life balance are some of the significant perquisites.
