★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Originally a recreation unit for Railway employees the institute is presently used mostly for social and cultural programmes, including marriages.
Pros: Location. Within 1 km of Rly station and on a good road connecting Barrackpore-Kalyani expressway, NH 34 and Kanchrapara market places. Easily accessible by bus, auto rikshaw and toto.
Cons: Walls inside the auditorium are shabby, not at all maintained. Poor ventilation. No proper toilet facility.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place for conducting events like marriage ceremony, birthday party etc. It's just on the road and near approx 20min walking distance from kancharapara railway station. Place is also neat and clean.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Originally built by Indian railways to cater their staffs at workshop at Kanchrapara and named as Hindmars institute, for indoor games and other recreational activities. Now a days being let out to public mostly for ceremonies like marriage, birthday parties, conference etc. Situated on the main road with lot of space around it. A permanent stage is there but acoustic system is not there.
