★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place where a canon is kept. Earlier, this canon was used to be fired to signal the time of Sandhi kejam (of Ashtami & Navami of Durgapuja). But later, due to some mishap, the practice was discontinued. It's nostalgic to people like us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just beside historically famous Sarbamangala Mandir, Kamantala , Burdwan is another famous historical landmark. Here was placed the famous canon donated by Burdwan Maharaja for performing Durga Puja. In Sandhi Puja of Durga Ashtami and Nabami this canon was utilised for make locals aware of Sandhi Puja timings. But in 1997, during Puja rituals, that old canon busted causing many deaths. Now a days, Burdwan Municipality placed a replica canon in that old place for visitors .The place is now a commercial hub with heavy hustle bustle.
