It's a very auspicious place to visit.Baranagar Kancher Mandir [Temple made of Glasses] founded by Swami Satyananda Dev situated inside Sri Sri Ramakrishna Ashram on the bank of River Ganga at Baranagar in North Kolkata.

This place is a beauty. A serene temple lying on the banks of the river Ganga. Kancher mandir is dedicated to Goddess Kali, and the Great Sri Ramkrishna Paramhansa and Maa Sarada. Their Durga pujo celebration is also a little different, they celebrate Maa Sarada as 'Jyanto Durga' (living Durga), and worship her idol during Pujo. I would suggest, do visit this place once, it will be a worthwhile experience.

Nice place right on the bank of the Ganges. Serene. Calm. Enlivening for the distressed soul. Doesn't really matter if you are God-fearing or not. The moment you're there, history will hold your hand and take you to a fascinating tour. Down memory lane. And yes, ferry service is available from almost at stone's throw distance. Just on the opposite bank of the river stands Belur Math. Winter is not far away. Be there. To get healed. To the core of your heart.

A beautiful temple of Goddes Kali situated on the eastern bank of river Hooghly certainly attract God loving ❤ people across the society ?. This temple was built by Thakur Satyananda in the year of 1967. He named the temple as 'মণি মন্দির ' ( glass temple) . You will find mental peace and happiness when you are there. The premises also have the ancestral house of Shri Thakur ,which he had converted into Sree Sree Ramkrishna Ashram and Sree Sree Ramkrishna Sevayatan in 1939. Thakur was a highly spiritual person since childhood, after his formal education he had involved himself in deep spiritual activities. Swami Avedananda, one of the closest disciples of Shri Ramkrishna Paramhansadev was his spiritual master. After 13 years of intensive meditation ?‍♀️ Thakur Satyananda came out as a yogi and devoted himself into various social activities as well as religious culture.
