750 stairs you have to climb and don't go on stairs figure it's totally different type of stairs.
Hard to go there if you have lots of stamina than only dare to go.

If you wish to visit then do start early morning coz it's 650 steps but it's on hill so it's as good as 3000 steps. Do carry water. And if starting late then carry hat and wear tracking & sun friendly cloths and shoes.
If you going with the help of Google map then Put Mapgaon in Location coz way to Kanakeshwar mandir shown by Google map is not for vehicle.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shree Kshetra Kankeshwar at the Konkan Coast, Alibag is most popular holy place.It is situated near the Village of Mapgaon just about 14 kms to 15 kms from Mandwa Jetty. The hill is having 750 steps to reach to the temple. You can come by road also by ferries from Gate Way of India, Colaba, Mumbai. You also have accommodations available on top.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kankeshwar Temple - 13 Kms from Alibag in Northeast direction is this very famous Shiv temple on a 900 ft. high hill. Its' a 5000 ft and 650 step which takes around one hour landmarks along the route are tombs of MohanGiri and Balgiri, Nagoba Rest, Jambhali Plateau, God's stair, Gaymandi etc. It comprises various small temples of Sri Paleshwar, Sri Hanuman, Sri Balram Krishna and Lord Shiv.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a Lord Shiva temple. Awesome place with peaceful nature. There are 750 steps and bit difficult to trek but you will enjoy the this trek.For better experience go early morning and enjoy nature.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was a great experience to climb 700+ stairs to visit the temple. It took around 3-4 hours for us to reach at the top. There is also an arrangement made for drinking water made for devotees to quench their thirst while heading to this devine location.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful temple of Lord Shiva which is situated atop mountain. It takes around an hour to reach at the top if you take steps which are well laid out from parking itself. Its not exactly an easy trek kind of thing as there are 650 steps and can be tiring and exhaustive specially for senior citizens but can be completed if you have ample time available and take break inbetween. Few shops are available near the temple serving soft drinks and snacks, also saw 2-3 small shops along the route. Best time to visit is early morning or during monsoon as the route passes through mountains and becomes quite picturesque. Easiest way to reach base parking area is to take right at Karlekhind and stay on Thal road and then take right again at Mapgaon road if coming from poynad, road condition is better on this route, another route is from Chondi naka which passes through Tropicana resort but road condition is worst on this stretch. Overall a must visit place when in alibaug especially during monsoon?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome hike of 750 steps. Very peaceful place. Best time to start is morning by 9. Couple of vendors enroute selling lemonade and water. Best carry a cap and water. Snacks available within the temple premises
