P-1/2, Suhrawardy Ave, Beniapukur, Kolkata, West Bengal 700017 Lady Brabourne College is one of the premier institutions for women's education in Kolkata, India. The college admits undergraduates and post-graduates, and awards degrees from the University of Calcutta. It is a state government administered college and is in one of the more cosmopolitan localities of the city.

This college may look good from its history. But it is one of the worst college to be ever witnessed by human kind.Students are humiliated for any documentation process, they are told to come day after day upto weeks just for a mere signature. If anybody thinking of taking admission in this college I would strongly advice him to reconsider its decision. Even the teachers are so pathetic. They dont teach shhit. They favour students who does their bootlicking and give them full marks whereas other students are treated like animals and even on performing well are not given the marks they deserved. And especially the staffs are so rude they treat you like dog. Many students dont voice their opinion because they think it will tarnish the image of their college in which they studied but I have here exposed the reality. I would say horrible would be a understatement for this college.

It was established in 1939. It's a purely Government and women's college. It provides undergraduate and postgraduate degree and is affiliated by the University of Calcutta. Sri A. K. Fazlul Huq, Prime Minister of Bengal, took an important role for establishment of the college. Mr. Baron Brabourne was the then Governor of Bengal. His wife was Mrs. Doren Baroness Brabourne. Sir John Herbert was the next Governor. He laid down the foundation stone of the college on 26th August, 1939 and mentioned the name of the college as Lady Brabourne College. The atmosphere is pleasant and the faculties are good. The result is satisfactory. In 2017, the college was awarded to provide the degree of doctor of philosophy. Few distinguished alumnae are as follows. Arundhati Bhattacharya, Arundhati Ghosh, Asima Chatterjee, Beggzadi Mahmuda Nasir, Koena Mitra, Rituparna Sengupta, Indrani Sen, Srabani Sen etc etc.

It is a nice experience to go here. Except that the college is at an odd place. But at the inside of the clg, one will get an old world charm.
