The curzon gate is an important land mark in Burdwan town. Very beautifully designed. The Curzon gate looks very beautiful at night. Well maintained by respective authority. Very busy place. Many clothing shops, grocery stores are available there. Famous Ramprasader Lassi is next to Curzon Gate. The gate is about 1.2KM away from Bardhaman railway station.

traffic police are useless... they are not able to handle the traffic rules.... Those people are riding a bike most of them are not using Helmet.... local toto drivers and Riska drivers are don't care about Police and traffic lights... it's really embarrassing, from this are very near is dm office, District office and police station... but still they are fell to managing this area...... (update) don't see any improvement...

Load Curzon Gate is located at the crossing of Bijoy Chand Road and Grand Trunk Road, it was built in 1902/1903, on the occasion of the coronation of  Maharaja Bijoy changdra. The former royal palace is located 1 km from the gate. The gate arch is supported by eight circular columns. Three female figurines, with swords, boats, and sheaves of corn in their hands, on the arch signify progress in agriculture and commerce. There are twenty-one circles with twenty-one illustrations at the top portion of the gate. The structure was constructed by masons from Italy. After the Bardhaman Raj was incorporated into the newly independent India, the gate was referred to as Bijoy Toran, but it is still popularly known as Curzon Gate, with the Bengali pronunciation – Karjon Gate. Since 1974, the gate has been maintained by the Public Works Department of the Government of West Bengal.

Medicins stores are not something I wish to visit every day. But in case you need to, this is one of the best medicine store in the city. Air conditioned. Every time I visited this place, I've found what I needed. They measure your blood pressure for free. There is a weight machine also that you can use.
