★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Inaugurated on 3rd March 1977 by Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister of India, the Nehru Planetarium is a part of the Nehru Centre in Mumbai. The Centre pragmatically promotes the teaching and thoughts of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru through its cultural and educational events. The Planetarium strives to infuse and spread the knowledge about Astronomy and Science through prodigious lectures, discussions and events, ensuring an enriching experience, both in learning and entertainment.

It also has a dome theatre wherein shows are played for explaining our solar system. One of the best place in Mumbai to your kids. It's part of the Nehru Science centre.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nehru Planetarium is a domed building that houses an art gallery, restaurant, library and a cultural centre. If you're into astronomy and stuff then this place is for you. Good place to visit for children and nerds. Very informative and will never bore you. Detailed explanation about stars, planets, solar system. They show short movie regarding space. The shows are available in Hindi, Marathi and English. The main highlight of the planetarium is the variety of cubicles which is able to calculate your weight in each of the nine planets of the solar system. Adjacent to it, there is Science Complex which exhibits a 14 minute exhibit which is known as the 'Discovery of India'. It is an exhibition which covers all the diverse elements of the artistic, philosophical and academic journey of India through the ages. These are displayed in 14 galleries which include major architectural and artistic works, photographs and audio visuals. The place, most often, is flooded by students.
