This is not any hotel.... It is a holy ashram The image given in this site is completely wrong... someone has done a mistake... They have given the image of nilachal holiday home... but this is a holy ashram.... The name is same

good for short budget trip..rooms are good but attach bathroom is uncleaned &basin, shower, taps are very old.....need to improve.. but staffs are good,helpful..room service is better than other facilities..

We have visited Puri on 9th May'2014 and have stayed at Nilachal Hotel till 12th May'2014. We have selected the hotel for sea facing facility but the room we got was not sea facing, rather it was side sea facing. The balcony was extremely dirty and dirty stuffs(like hairs) were here and there on the railings. The bed sheet was not of made of cotton,and I wonder that whether it was cleaned for once. There 14 inch CRT TV in the room ,old model, and only 14-15 channels used to come. The chair was broken. Coming to the bathroom, it was extreme dirty, one glass was broken and it was not altered. The charges inside the hotel cafeteria can be compared to the rates of any 5star hotel but the quality of the food served is worst,I ever had in any hotel. The rates were high and quality of food was worst.The behaviour of the stuffs was very bad. The situation was worsened at the time of leaving when they carried our luggage from top floor to an auto and asked tips for it. But, I remember very well during entry, we ourselves have carried our luggage to our hotel room. Even, the security, the bathroom cleaner were asking for tips and they were not satisfied with a 50rupee note. It is my request to opt for other hotels like Puri hotel, Pulinpuri, Sonali Hotel, Victoria Hotel but please do not rather never ever opt for Hotel Nilachal. It will make your life hell for those days and will ruin your entire trip.

The location is nearby from the Jagannath mandir only 10mints walking distance and u can come here along with the sea beach also ( walking distance 5mints ), there is a shortcut also. Every year on the auspicious occasion of Rakhi Purnima "Janmahatsab Program" of shree Thakur is organized here , along all the other ashrams. One can pay a nominal amount Rs .150/- (this year ) as delicate to contribute in this program. All are welcome in the utsab . The utsab is held for 3days . one can visit here in any month of the calendar year. Opening time of nilachal Kutir is 8- 11 a.m. in the morning and 4-5 p.m. in the evening.
