A new building has come up in the adjacent area with display board and a/c waiting hall as added facility. The arrangement here is good and satisfactory.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On the first floor there is a big and well decorate air conditioned waiting room for the people. The view of the river Ganges from this place is beautiful and charming. In the ground floor there are 8 (eight) newly built furnaces. It has a big and clean washroom attached in the first floor beside the rest room.The cemetery is supervision under KOLKATA MUNICIPAL CORPORATION . It is the oldest and largest crematorium of the city in North Kolkata beside the river Ganges near Bhootnath shiv temple . Near railway station name is Sovabazar Ahiritola.lots of vehicle are there like autos ,buses, vessels. The fairy ghat name is Ahiritola near the cemetery.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Things are become better now previously there are 4 nos of oven and huge pressure relay on that
.but now there are 12 oven are placed there ..8 for ordinary people and 4 for the VIP people
There are large space infront of the oven, and waiting room with A.C .one of waiting room situated to the Ganga side and the view of the river is mesmerizing.

Mixed with sorrows tears it appears that it brings you far from this busy city. Everything here is beyond any explanation...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most popular burning ghat of the city of joy.Dead body comes here day and night. This burning ghat is located beside the holy Ganga(Hooghly river).The place is very crowded and mourners have to wait very long time for cremation. Doms(cremation worker) are very greedy they want extra money from mourners.
