★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Vocal department is horrible. They've made impotent, self absorbed and irrelevant people as head of vocal departments in a contemporary western music school which focuses on jazz btw. Wasted a lot of money in the first year and glad I quit the second year. Internal drama within faculty and management made really talented and senior musicians such as Vasundhara Vee, Karim Ellaboudi and Shirish Malhotra as faculty to quit teaching, Nmims must know how to not run a music school like an engineering school, once they do so, the college has a future. Do not join without finding out who your faculty is and if it's worth paying any penny towards. Cheers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I enrolled myself in NMIMS School Of Performing Arts in 2018. Although I had no prior professional music training and was mostly self taught, I was able to crack the audition and the interview. Within next six months I was able to play and sing several different genres. I was comfortable with complex time signatures and my music theory and basics were strong. NMIMS SOPA not only focuses on the performing aspect but also pushes their students to analyse, compose, arrange and produce music.
The campus is small. But, each and every single practice rooms are sound proof with good acoustics, amazing high end instruments ( 2 Steinway Grand pianos, few upright pianos, around 15 digital pianos, teles, strats, PRS guitars, Marshall tube Amps, Fender reverb amps, Nord keyboards, over 10 drum kits to name a few. )
Most of all, the faculty members are internationally known for their playing. We’ve also had many master classes from Artists like Sanjay Divecha, Trilok Gurtu, Guthrie Govan and Marcus Gilmore.
For those who are still unsure due to some scuffle between the NMIMS management , I’d suggest them to directly contact the dean or schedule an appointment to clear any confusion. Every college has its own ups and downs, it’s about how much you learn from it.
I’ve enjoyed every moment of learning from this college :)

The subjects and the curriculum are very helpful for the overall understanding of performing skills as well as academic discipline.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you're looking for a degree in music, NMIMS SOPA is a good place to start.
A very good environment to learn music, excellent subjects, and a good faculty. A well rounded curriculum which ensures that you have both the practical and theoretical skills to make it as a musician.
There are definitely some issues with a couple of faculty members but nothing that can't be fixed with better management.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s a great place to learn music. I did my majors in piano performance and I can tell you I had the best teachers coming in and teaching the course. Along with piano performance I had the opportunity to explore composition and arranging, rhythm training, world percussion and many more subjects that helped me develop as an all round musician. The main USP of the college is that all the faculty members are working in the industry and that really helps us get opportunities and understand the industry better. If you are looking to make a career out of music then this is the place you got to be in.
