Would suggest you to visit during early mornings or evening time... Afternoons are too sunny..
Keep yourself safe by not crossing the fencing on the edges of mountain. You can get really good pictures even inside the fencing...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Matheran is a unique place in India. This is an amazing place where you can see a beautiful sunset over the mountains.! You can compare this to an usual feeling of sunset into the sea..! Porcupine point is very beautiful point for seeing sunset when you are in matheran can enjoy sunset at leisure. The sun goes down, the color of sky changes with various shades of red and orange... its beautiful... indescribable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Matheran is a great weekend getaway for Mumbaikars and Punekars. The best time would be winters when you can actually see all the valley from up top. The views are great specially if you're on a short trip.
