★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prithvi Theatre is one of Mumbai's best known theatres. It was built by Shashi Kapoor and his wife Jennifer Kapoor in memory of Prithviraj Kapoor, Shashi's father, who had dreamt of having a "home" for his repertory theatre company, Prithvi Theatres, belongs to the Kapoor family, one of the most influential actor and director families in Bollywood. Prithviraj Kapoor founded 'Prithvi Theatres', a travelling theatre company in 1944. The company ran for sixteen years.[1] Ved Segan was the architect who designed and built the Theatre with the supervision of Jennifer Kapoor. Jennifer, (Trustee) supervised the building and running of the theatre until her death in 1984. In 1978 Prithvi Theatre opened in Juhu, Mumbai. Shashi Kapoor was the Managing Trustee, the daily affairs are looked after by Kunal Kapoor (Trustee) with a small but efficient team. Prithvi Theatre has shows every day of the year (closed Mondays), hosts an annual Summertime programme of workshops and plays for children, the Memorial Concert on 28 February, an annual Theatre Festival in November, and many partnership programmes promoting language, poetry, international cinema & documentaries, performing arts – which are free to the public

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I guess this is one of the best theatres in Mumbai...Well maintained and they follow all rules of Covid Precautions. They even gave me a distance maintaining bar, which I saw for the first time. The vibe of the space is great and although Its a all theatre but it has a great ambience outside and well decorated.
The seats were sofa like cushion seats and the seating space is nicely designed. The lightings are also great...I went to watch Internal affairs where they used red, green and yellow lights, even white spot lights. Over all I had a great experience at Prithvi theatre, their cafe also has various bakery items like puff and croissants both veg and non veg and they also take UPI payments. Overall a good experience at Prithvi. The tickets are scanned through the qr code that you receive on whatsapp.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has a very literary vibe in the afternoons. The small bookshop there has a great collection of hindustani and urdu novels and books. The shop owner is an interesting to talk to, I asked him for some book recommendations and ended up discussing with him for 30 minutes!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Iconic place and strict disciplinians! Even if you are late by a minute, you are not allowed inside which is right but there is no parking space and you need good 20 minutes to park and walk to the theatre! Lost 1500 for being late because of parking and no shoulders to cry on...Still a great place!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prithvi cafe is always a pleasure to visit. Great place and ambience to hang out with friends with amazing food! Just that the last time we went, we had to wait too much and we eventually eneded up leaving. So book a table well in advance if you're planning to go post evening.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very beautiful place pleasant ambience! The food was really good, especially the chocolate and cheese croissant. The crowd here is huge, so you'll have to wait for a while to get the table. We didn't get the table so we took our order take away only.
