Rajgad trek is Very beautiful trek in Maharashtra. it's hard to climb up. I spent 2 hours to climb this fort. Very huge fort. Very nice view at suvela machi place. Our college trip had go to this place. We had taken zunka bhakar dish in Lunch. जय जिजाऊ?? जय शिवराय ??

Divine place. Best ever trek to Rajgad fort. It's 2hrs trek via Pali darvaja. One can feel the purity in the atmosphere.. winter is the best time to visit. During rainy season route towards ballekilla becomes sleepery. So not advisable to trek balekilla as per updates from local people.

This is one of the most dangerous treks due to lack of man made stairs for most of the pathway. Entering into fort is really dangerous as one has to use the steel cables as support to climb almost vertical hill top. And then the loose gravel giving you thrill/scares depending on how you look at it. Climbing this fort would give you a thrill of achieving something adventurous. Finally, the trek goes uphill and flat 20% only which puts a high demand on your knees. And while coming down, the loose gravel on the pathway makes you anxious - like am I going to break some parts my body. Scenary is very nice and suggest to visit the lone hill top and spend watching the beauty from all sides. I wish I could have landed directly instead of toiling my way there.

Kille Rajgad ? Historical background :It is the place with great historical background and legacy of Maratha Empire. It was the first capital of Maratha Empire established by The great King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj born at this Fort. So this fort has experienced golden days in the presence of Shivaji Maharaj, Sambhaji Maharaj and Rajmata Jijabai. Location : Kille Rajgad is located at approximately 60 Km from Pune in Sahyadri Mountain Range. Base villages: Gunjavane, Margasani, Pali Transport facility : PMPML buses available from katraj bus depot for gunjavne base village, you can drive a car or bike till base village, parking facility available. Trek range : Medium to High , It takes 2 to 2.5 hrs to reach at top of fort from Gunjvane village, From Pali village it takes comparatively less time. Water and Food availability : No food available at top on fort, you can get some snacks like biscuits only and Brislery water available at 2-3 places, There is a lake near Godess temple where u can get cold water. About Fort : Fort has many temples, Ambarkhana, Zunjar Machi, Budhla Machi, Many lakes and so many places to explore. It's height and its strong structures will definitely give u glimpse of Great Maratha Empire once it was. Balekilla is the highest place at fort, the way to Balekilla is tough but if u crosss it then u will get a good scenary of Sahyadri Mountain range. Places visible from Above : Sinhgad Fort, Torna Fort, Nanacha Angtha, Sometimes if Sky is clear Fort Raigad also visible. You can't explore whole fort in one day, It takes atleast two days to explore fort, camping is available through different trip partners. Overall it is a great place to visit!! It checks ur endurance, gives u pleasure to succeed a trek and energy to come back again to get a glorious view.!! Petrol pump : On highway till Nasrapur there are many Petrol pumps but after Nasrapur there is hardly any pump in 30 km distance. Thank you!!

Great trekking venue. Difficulty moderate. I found the climb steeper than many other treks, so be prepared. Partially covered by forest. You will find lime juice, cucumber, buttermilk vendors alongside the trail. Plenty spots for quick rest in case you are tired. Overall very nice trek.

All the forts in Maharashtra are incredible. Rajgad is one of the toughest to climb. Regular trekkers will not feel much fatigue but the one who will go for first ep shapely gave the challenge. It's nearby Pune City. You can reach by 2/4 wheeler here, in the small town situated at the base of Rajgad you must park your vehicle and stay trekking. It's a great fort. The view from the top is simply awesome?. You can enjoy a beautiful sunset ?

The trek here is of easy to moderate level. You just have to walk a lot. The whole experience is so soothing at the end of the trek when you see the scene from the top. Recommend to start climbing early so the heat of the sun doesn't drain your energy.

Best scenery from the top. Nice trekking spot. Food is not available at top, you have to order it from hotels near starting point and they will carry the food at top if requested(I don't know detailed info about food). I took around 2:00-2:30hrs for us to trek. Must visit place.
