This temple was built in 1728 A.D. the temple measures 24ft x 21ft resembles a traditional bengal hut (Atchala) with a facade resting on triple arched entrance doorway. It is facing tghe east and the facade is decorated with rich terracotta plaques depicting scenes from epic, krishnalila, contemporary social sciences, abstract floral motifs etc. [Directorate of Archeology & Museums Information and cultural affairs dept, West Bengal, 1970]

A well- maintained and beautifully designed temple of Shiva. You can go there in a holiday of one day. But don't go with big cars like small buses, sumos. Please use small cars.

DWARHATTA IS MORE OR LESS 60KM AWAY FROM KOLKATA IN SRIRAMPUR BLOCK OF HOOGLY DISTRICT. AND RAJRAJESWAR TEMPLE IS ONE OF THE ATTRACTION TO VISIT DWARHATTA. IT WAS BUILT BY APURBAMOHAN SINGHAROY. IT WAS BUILT IN THE 1728 A.D. THE TEMPLE MEASURING 24FT×21FT RESEMBLES A TRADITIONAL BENGALI HUT (ATCHALA TYPE) WITH A FACADE RESTING ON TRIPLE ARCHED ENTRANCE DOORWAY. IT WAS FACING TO EAST AND THE FACADE IS DECORATED WITH RICH TERRACOTTA ART WORK. THE MAIN IDOL IS IN TEMPLE IS RAJRAJESWAR (SALGRAM SILA) WHICH IS WORSHIPPED EVERYDAY. A NICE PLACE TO SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. THE TEMPLE IS PROPERLY CLEANED AND NOT TOO CROWDED. ANYONE CAN REACH THIS TEMPLE BY TRAIN OR ROAD. IF YOU ARE COMING BY TRAIN THEN YOU HAVE TO GET DOWM HARIPAL STATION AND FROM THERE TAKE A TOTO.

Such a beautiful piece of sculpture! The structure is really excellent. The terracotta art is still glorious and vivid. The premises is empty, very few people is aware of this beautiful temple made in 1723-1728. People may spend half to an hour here in the lap of nature. The condition of approach road is not good and it requires some renovation.
