★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice place for picnic . Fine and nice weather for weekend. Also nice place for school excursion. Dam water is very fresh and pollution less. No problem of car or bus parking. City dwellers must come here for it's pollution less environment. Beautiful scene of baranti pahar. Photographers must visit here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Baranti/ Ramchandrapur Dam is an Off Beat place located in the lap of Gorongi Hill in Ramchandrapur, Purulia, half km away from Muraddi Station. It's really a beautiful place to enjoy the natural beauty surrounded with hills and lakes. For staying, one government lodge and few private lodges also there.
This area is surrounded by the Panchkot Hill at one side and the Biharinath Hill on the other, with a water reservoir under Ramchandrapur Medium Irrigation Project. This area is popular for hill and jungle trekking due to its natural environment. Garh Panchkot is only 12 km away, and Joychandi Pahar just 21 km away from Baranti. Biharinath, the Araku Valley of Bengal is just 18 km from Baranti.
The place has been aptly described in The Telegraph, "right in the lap of a hilly range with a huge water reservoir...Sunset is particularly special in Baranti. The lake keeps changing colour from time to time. It’s a real treat for the eyes to sit and watch the various shades of yellow and red reflected on the water and quietly spreading out on to the paddy fields... The huge water body around the dam attracts a lot of migratory birds every winter."

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very beautiful place to enjoy the natural scenerio of a west bengal government's water project which is surrounded by beautiful hill all around. It is a beautiful water dam which is emerging as a tourist spot in purulia district. There are many resorts and hotels for the tourist with parking facilities.Tourist attraction here includes beautiful view of sunset and a good place to hang out specially for families. No facility of washroom/public toilet observed in the place. 5 km away from Murahdih station

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Baranti is a great place for the visitors who loves nature and the natures gift.... because baranti dam is one of them....we have a conception that dam is constructed artificially beside a river by reserving the water of that river....but baranti dam is unique in this prospect. The dam is created naturally from the water of rainfall. There is a hill just beside the dam and whenever the rain comes the water comes down to the dam from the hill top and this is happening from years . Now a days it is maintained by govt of WB . And many visitors comes in the month of December, January, February . Many guest rooms are there where you can stay ....charges are varies with room specifications. Now a days govt take many suitable steps to make the place more attractive for visitors. There is a govt guest house also in which rooms are available as per user requirement.
