There is only one platform in the station. It is a small and very calm station. The trains run through this station are Barddhaman-Katwa. This is the next station after Nigan onwards Barddhaman.

Saonta halt, this name describe that it's a small station,and that is its significance. The charming view of paddy field around its and the solitary nature of this station stole my attention.
