It is heart touching to see the Indian flag flying in front of the Sealdah station. The station is clean and tidy enough, but many of us do something that the station dirty we've doing this every day.Currently the number of trains due to COVID 19 is very low, the staff special train is running and it is getting horribly crowded. Crowds at Sealdah Main division as well as crowds at South Division.Sealdah (SDAH) is one of India's major railway terminal serving the city of Kolkata. The other main railway stations in the Kolkata metropolitan region are Howrah, Shalimar, Kolkata and Santragachi. Sealdah is one of the busiest railway stations in India and also the second largest railway station in India after Howrah located in the same city of Kolkata with a daily passenger footfall of over 1.23 million. It also acts as an important suburban rail terminal. After completion, Kolkata Metro Line will pass through Sealdah.(thanks Wikipedia for giving me some details)

It's one of the most important stations connecting Kolkata nationally and also with local villages. Lakhs of passengers regularly cross this station. Very crowded. Along the roadside, outside the station a lot of private vendors are authorized to sell unreserved local train tickets with Rs. 2/- extra. At Office goers timings, this station becomes overcrowded, so tourists should avoid that particular time of the day if possible.

Sealdah railway station has changed a lot with added beautification, separators, and re-numbering of platforms. It caters to suburban trains to Dankuni, Ranaghat, Krishnanagar, Gede, Barrackpore, Kalyani, Hasnabad, and Barasat from Sealdah North amd Diamond Harbour, Canning, Sonarpur among others from Sealdah South. It also runs long distance trains to New Delhi, Bihar, Malda, New Jalpaiguri, and Puri among others. There are seperate ticket counters for suburban (Sealdah North & south) and long distance trains (first floor over SM office). Sealdah station is approachable by taxi, buses, and trains. There is a prepaid taxi stand within the premises.

Sealdah railway station is in Kolkata. It is very crowded railway station ever I had seen. More than 16 platforms. This railway station has big bazar , KFC , shopping complex. It seems like you are in the mini market loaded with trains. In front of railway station you will get fish market and cheap market from where you buy anything like clothes, vegetables, idols , sweets, bronze idols etc.

This is the busiest station in all of west bengal after howrah station...everyday millions of people use this station...This is the second largest railway station in kolkata after howrah station....the infrastructure is good..almost half of the train from kolkata to all of India leaves from here....a very very big railway station....it is having a total of 21 platform...it is end type station....so either trains starts from here or ends at this station....no train passes through this station...all type of shops are here....almost all the trains to north bengal leaves from here....overall a very nice railway station
