★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Shivlinga inside the temple is considered, was established in dwapara yuga.
It is said that when lord Shiva was travelling towards mathura getting the glimpse of Shri Krishna on his birth he took rest at this place and took a pledge 'if he could able to make Krishna play in his lap then he will establish a shivlinga at the same place', His wish fulfilled in this way this shivalinga named mankameshwar was established by lord Shiva by itself, while returning from Vrindaban. And said 'whoever will come to this place faithfully his/her wish come true as mine'. One must be put on traditional indian dhoti to enter in main sanctum around Shivling compulsory for man and woman both but can worship from outside without dhoti.
