★ ★ ★ ★ ★ St Mary's Basilica, Bengaluru, India. I walked to this church, entered from the back lane, after passing the market and the slums. At first, I passed a wide and crowded roads. However, the more days the road gets narrower and lonely. Finally I had to go through a long and very smelly narrow alley.
Around and in this church I find prayerful silence. A mystical aura was felt. Many people come here, male and female, they pray and sing while kneeling and standing. Long queues of people await their turn for Sacrament of Penance. Really, this place is a place of prayer ...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The only Basilica is Bangalore. It’s a minor basilica dedicated to Our Mother Mary. The shrine sees massive crowds on Saturday and feast days. The feast in the first week of Sep each year are the most busy times. The statue of the mother is adorned with a saree, devotees offer candle and flowers. Car parking is best above the shivajinagar bus stand. Since the church is located bang in the middle of the market, the place is congested, and approach is dirty at times too. The place boasts of many miracles and intercessions. The chariot procession and daily flag hoisting on feast days are a must experience ( at the risk of getting crushed) these events are not for the claustrophobic. A feeling of accomplishment and attainment engulfs you after parting here. There are masses in different languages through the day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First of all, This church is the one of the oldest Roman Catholic churches in Bangalore (OUR LADY OF GOOD HEALTH). However, while spending a few time in the basilica always bring awesome experience. St. Mary's basilica bring more spiritual experience because of the ambiance. Besides that people have an opportunity for confession in every Saturdays from 4:00 Pm onwards in certain languages such as Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and English. Moreover, Mass timing details are prescribed in the church official website.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The architecture has done really good job designing this beautiful church. I recently visited this church on Christmas. And the decorations were so awesome.. everyone who were there to decorate each and every corner their efforts can be seen. Thankyou all for making the church look so colorful and beautiful. Will surely go on some Sunday and enjoy the peace there.
