★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The unusual place for the free study centre. It's located amid greenery which helps students to concentrate on their books in ever busy traffic area. The seating arrangement is not comfortable for longer study hours. But it provides an opportunity for the students from middle class and poor families. Don't be in hurry while crossing the road near the study centre.

A boon especially for students belonging to the underprivileged sections who are cramped up with families of 4/6/8 persons in 200-300 sq.ft.area homes in slums and need a dedicated place to study either by themselves or with fellow classmates !
Right at the busy intersection of cooperage road, its alarming how this place is able to function with utmost discipline...there is no one out here chit chatting or hanging about ;
People even spend the entire day here..studying ! Its free and open to all and extremely busy during exam season..
It offers an atmosphere congenial to serious concentrated effort at studies and many students are regulars out here...seeing themselves through many examinations !

MRS. ANNIE SHEKHAR IN THE YEAR 1999, DURING HER TENURE AS MUNICIPAL
COUNCILLOR ON THE IDEAS CO-ORDINATED AND ACTUALISED BY MR. VINOD SHEKHAR
AND HAS BEEN A SOURCE OF INSPIRATION TO SEVERAL YOUTH WHO WENT TO ATTAIN GREAT POSITIONS IN LIFE.
THIS STUDY CENTRE WAS REDESIGNED AND RENOVATED
IN THE YEAR 2013 BY
MRS. ANNIE SHEKHAR IN HER CAPACITY AS THE M.L.A. OF COLABA WITH THE INPUTS PROVIDED BY STUDENTS FROM SOUTH MUMBAI WHOSE ACADEMIC CAREERS HAD TAKEN STRONG ROOTS FROM HERE. Great Initiative! Hats off!
