Swami Dayanand Hospital is a 370 bedded hospital located in Dilshad Garden Delhi-110095 adjacent to IHBAS & GTB hospital & UCMS. It is the oldest hospital of East Delhi run by East Delhi Municipal Corporation. It caters to East Delhi and Population from Western U.P.
Standards of Service:
- This is a District Level hospital under EDMC
- It provides medical care to all patients who come to the hospital
- Standards are influenced by patients load and availability of resources
- Yet we insist that all our users receive courteous and prompt attention.
Beds: 370 indoor beds.
All Casualty Services are available round the clock.
- Duty Doctor is available round the clock
- One senior Doctor is available for supervisory work
- Senior doctors are available on call from duty doctors
- Basic emergency services are available for all specialties as listed in the OPD Services.
- Emergency Operations are done in- OT located on Ground floor of Ward building.
- Two Maternity OT on Ground & First Floor adjacent to Labor Room in MCH Block.
- Emergency Operation Theatre services are functional round the clock.
At present Emergency OT and Routine OT services are provided in the same premises.
In serious cases, treatment/management gets priority over paper work like registration and medico-legal requirements. The decision rests with the treating doctor.

All Staff member, have been provided with identity cards. Attendance is marked by Biometrics and also have attendance register with the in charges and HODs. A movement register is maintained at MS office for recording of visits outside the hospital on official capacity The supervisory staff, is expected to monitor the work of employees under them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went there today in the morning around 7 O'clock as my brother was suffering from stomach ache.. No Doctors were available there at the time or emergency, one staff boy checked him and gave an injection that's it. No bed facility, no sitting arrangements for patients were available there we were sitting in the garden area as my brother was not even manage himself to sit properly he was bearing so much pain from 7 O' clock to 10'O clock I have visited emergency ward for several times so that I can meet the Dr. And tell him the problem my brother was facing. But no Dr. We're available there and finally at 10:40 I have decided to take him(my brother) to another private hospital so that he will be out of the pain... This is the condition of Govt. Hospitals now a days...????

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hospital is extremely crowded with lots of blunt and ill- mannered people.... obviously, what can be expected from a government hospital! there is very poor token system.... no guards to maintain any discipline and process.... very difficult to reach the doctor.... without token system, people have to stand in long long queues ti reach doctor..., and even fight with people who enter in between the queue! I had horrible experience! I just left it and consulted private clinc for my problem.... But not everyone can do it! Hope it improves and become like it's neighbour hospital IHBAS which has extremely well maintained token system and sitting arrangements....!
