Built on a mountain peak about 1426 feet high, this fort is spread over an area of five miles. Hathi Pol, Ganesh Pol and Hazari Pol are the main entrance gates of this fort. The palaces built within the fort are unique due to their sculpture and murals. Chhatra Mahal, Aniruddha Mahal, Ratan Mahal, Badal Mahal and Phool Mahal are prominent among these palaces. Just as the stars in the sky are very high above the ground. Similarly, this fort of Bundi is also visible from the earth like a star. That is why it is known as Taragarh.

This is the best point of taraghar fort.....an ancient cannons lies in the ruins of the fort........ This place is located ahead of the shiv temple...... There is no specific road..... One has to go through bushes..... The view of Bundi from above is beautiful..... It's worth visiting this place especially in evening..... between 4-6

Really nice place to visit if you're fond of visiting the monuments. This fort is made for exploring the ancient architect. You have be ready for climbing up to the top as its way higher than you think but yes, view from top is literally mesmerizing. Get handy water bottle(s) to stay hydrated. Fort gets opened by 0800 IST.

Amazing place!! Got to see old architecture surrounded by greenery. Each stone is carved so beautifully. I could have just stayed there forever. Will visit again someday.

Good things:- You get nice view of Bundi City, I believe in rainy season it must looks stunning. Not good things:- - Not maintained, smelly at major parts of the fort. - Compared to other forts in Rajasthan, Taragrh has lost it's beauty. - Lady managing the parking lot misbehave with tourists. The staff at the fort cares nothing about it. - After a long steep trail leading towards Rani Mahal, you hope for a opulent Rani palace but you get is ruins and a dirty stepwell.

A one time visit place. Although build thoughtfully, there is no attractions like the other forts of same era. Most of the art work is damaged. There is q lack of basic amenities like water and toilets in the fort. Approach road is narrow and difficult for four wheelers.
