★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good look & clean place, is, always, a, welcoming spot. Added, to it, the polite staff, just, made us, feel, comfortable.
We were tempted to have
1. Rava Onion sada dosa
2. Crispy & thin, Ragi dosa
3. Mini idlis
4. Kela bhajiya
Which, were, served, with, white chutney, aromatic sambhar, a little sweet, red chutney & rasam.
Of, which, we loved, soft mini idlis with tasty red, chutney, the most. Couldn't, have, enough, of it.
Finished, our, meal, with, filter coffee & excellent, cold coffee.
I recommend, others, to try here, for good, South Indian fare, which, is neither, expensive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely Tasteless & horrible food. We ordered medu vada & batata vada which had no salt in it. Chutney was not grated coconut + some chunks of coconut pieces with mustard, again with no salt & taste.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The manager here is very inattentive. The staff is OK but without proper management, quality and speed of service suffers a lot. They need to immediately get a better and more responsive manager in this facility else this outlet will spoil the reputation of Thambi chain.

It is a Sunday morning and we thought of eating South indian breakfast at home for the family after several months.
Laxmi opposite IIT Powai was not servicing on Sunday so we ordered from Thambi Vikhroli, first time. But sadly was a terribly bad experience.. normally I don't like writing reviews for any minor issues with any merchant as I understand sometimes minor ups and downs do happen in business but today's experience was far too bad with flavors, taste and over salty/spicy and I thought Thambi fans gotta know.
We ordered plain Masala for kids. Was ok.
We ordered idlis, they were very soft, but ok.
We ordered Onion uttapa, not tasty at all.
Coconut chutney was extremely salty.
The sambar was salty and spicy. Hot masala effect. When you order make it clear what kind of salt, spice you need.
The sabu dana vada was too too oily and bland and very soft. Not crisp at all. I fact only oil could be felt. Extremely horrible. And finally
Rawa dosa was too hard and not crisp at all. The masal was ok.
Over all 1 star as mostly everything was much poor standard.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Today, we visited Thambbi- located at Kailash Business Complex on Vikhroli Powai link road. They serve excellent south Indian food at reasonable price.
We tried,
Misal Pav: It consisted of misal and pav. The dish was topped with farsan, chopped onion lemon and coriander. The combination was utterly delicious.
Upma: It was made with semolina, spices, curry leaves and nuts. It was delicious and healthy.
Idli sambar: Soft, fluffy idli was served with sambar and coconut chutney.The taste was amazing.
Lassi : Lassi was creamy, frothy and sweet. It was super thick and rich.
Punjabi Thali: It contained 3 puris, 2 vegetables, dal, papad, salad, pickles, basmati rice, gulab jamun with chaas.
All the dishes we tried were fresh and tasty.
Portion size are value for money and the taste are authentic.
Truly enjoyed the dishes.
Recommended for chats with friends and family.
