The Hope Project - New Delhi
Hope Project India, located in Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin, was founded in 1980 by the Sufi teacher, Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan. Moved by the extreme poverty of the people living near the msausoleum of his father Hazrat Inayat Khan, he envisioned a program, which would enable the poor to help themselves.
The Hope Project currently runs a community health centre, a creche, a non-formal school, vocational training courses, a thrift and credit program, and a women’s micro-enterprise unit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful multifaceted 45-years-on-the-ground Project in New Delhi in Nizamuddin basti, a poor neighborhood right by the Dargah or tomb of Hazrat Inayat Khan, the blessed being who brought the interfaith spiritual Sufi Message from India to the West more than 100 years ago. There is a school, a library, health care, nature projects, tech labs, elder services, food, music, thrift and credit and vocations.
