This is a very lovely cow boy themed cafe. The ambience is really very nice and plesant.. A perfect place to have some quality time with your loved one and also to chill out with friends. Now come to the food. Their GREEN MARTINI was really good and a very good combination with the yummy Dry chilly chicken. I also tried their CHICKEN STEAK which was fantastic. They also serve a very yummy Brownie Delight. The sitting arrangement is good. A pocket friendly place.

The tavern is a nice secluded place in an alley with a lot of room inside. Apart from serving just as a cafe it can host a decent gathering for get togethers and family outings. The place is very clean and the interior decor has a freshness to it. The food is very good and the menu has a good blend of western and oriental dishes. Price is a little on the higher side. Overall i would say it is a place you can visit if you have a budget of 600 for two

6 months' lockdown and homemade food made me tired of life. Then Suddenly I decided to visit The Tavern Cafe which was there in my bucket list for so long. Being a North Kolkatan, I was never reluctant to visit Cafes and Restaurants of South Kolkata. Keeping in mind of Cafe Culture, this one literally stole my heart with its ambience, decor and wallpapers! All hygiene protocols are being maintained along with constant sanitization and use of masks by staffs. Vistors are also not allowed without mask and sanitization will be done again before entering the place. Staffs are enough courteous and served us in proper time. They helped us with placing order using mobile scanner as we were totally new to this system during covid time. We were served with 1. Chicken Olivetti - I found it to be the continental version of Chicken Pasinda. It is one of their signature dishes. 2. Pepper Fish - This one just stole my heart. It was not less than the showstopper among all. Must try I say! 3. Mixed Suace Veg Pasta with Garlic bread- The good part of the pasta sauce was, it dint get sticky though we had it after a long time it was served. 4. Meat Lovers' Pizza - This was like any other Meat Lovers' Pizza we had. It was okayish. 5.Paprika Grilled Chicken with herbed rice & veggies - It was tender with a droolworthy aroma . Must try from their menu. 6. 3 treasure Noodle with Chilli Chicken - It was something new to me. Liked it! 7. Egg Fried Rice with Chilli Basa Fish - Being a Basa lover, I just loved this one! All the Basa lovers, don't miss this out! 8. BBQ Chicken Pizza - BBQ pizza is always my favorite one. They dint disappoint me with this. 9. Brownie with Ice cream - The brownie was so soft and lipsmackinng. Being a dessert lover, brownie is something I cant skip! 10. Caramel Custard - It was okayish because I am not fond of Caramel Custard. Custard lovers can give it a try. 11. Mud Pie - Again this dessert just stole my heart. I tried it first time. Must try dessert from The Tavern Cafe. Along with these starters, Main Courses and Desserts , mocktails were served on our table which are very refreshing after a sweaty journey from North Kolkata to South Kolkata! Folks, Visit Tavern Cafe today as they have started their new combo menus at very reasonable price from 14th September. If you wanna avoid dine-in outside, you can always order via Zomato/Swiggy.Even, they have their own delivery option available now. Bon appetite!!! ❤

We had been there in the evening recently. I would have preferred brighter lighting - in December, where days are short, the evenings start early by 4 pm in Kolkata - bright lights always pep up the mood, I think. We sat outside - 2 tables were there. We had coffee and some bhetki (butter lemon sauce with mashed potatoes and stir fried veg). That was nice - helpings are quite large. The black coffee was fine. Service was good - staff is friendly and helpful. It is in a lane, near the Lord's Bakery junction. So, you will not find it unless you go looking for it. It is a quiet place (it was quite when we were there - very few tables were occupied when we were there). So, a good place if you want a quiet chat where you don't have to scream at each other to be heard over loud music/noise of chatter. Would I go there again - maybe no, as I would look out for a better lit place.

Response to the owner's comment (original review below): Lol, the waiter helplessly said, "Visit again for better experience", which in no way is "addressing the issue". There's no reason for me to risk my valuable time and money at this 'tavern' again with so many awesome places nearby, since my issue wasn't looked into. The waiter at the restaurant and even the owner in the Google response both had the opportunity to turn this experience around if they cared. Instead they sarcastically remarked "We are sad to know about your ' traumatizing experience' and request you to take care of yourself." While my review covers the disgusting food, the owner's response speaks volumes about the management's pathetic attitude towards customers and their experience. I strongly urge everyone to not visit this restaurant and to not waste their time and money like me. ********************************************* Original review: This is by far the most terrible cafe in the city, and I'd never even wish it upon my worst foes. Here's my harrowingly disheartening experience from Feb 26, 2022 around 9:15 pm. We visited the place and ordered a meat lovers pizza worth 400 Rs. The waiting staff was polite and offered us the option for either pork or chicken or both and we chose both. All good till here, this is where the goodness ends... The pizza had thin crust and seemed to be smaller than eight inches. The meat was not fresh, it was worse than the frozen meats we get from typical food delivery services, and absolutely bland and tasteless. I got some meat but it lacked the taste of either any chicken or pork. There was some cheese, but no other condiments. Having had the amazing Hog Lovers And Hog Lovers Reloaded pizzas from Macazzo, or anything literally from the nearby cafes like Blue Mug or Beanshot (which are much cheaper), my lowest bar of expectation was at least some fresh meat, or some flavor for 400 bucks, not some frozen and tasteless salami and sausage pieces thrown onto a thin bland base that vilifies the name of pizza. I somehow gulped it down with some tabasco sauce for taste. Bland disgusting taste, and on complaining about the same, we were not offered any resolution except a promise for better food next time, curious why I paid 400 bucks this time ? ? . So there's no refund, no free beverage or literally anything to appease my pain or anger?. Also when I wanted to speak to the manager, the waiter offered to help himself, I don't know if there's no manager or he just didn't want to call the manager up or what goes on at this place, pretty surprising for a place with 4.3 stars on Google reviews. If you cannot cook, don't worry, just make anything at home and the result will be better than this. Or just order online from anywhere, you can't possibly do worse than this. This experience is somewhat around 150 bucks imo (price includes ambience), for the food itself, I won't really have it for free even. To conclude, if you want to ruin your evening with the worst food in town and terrible customer resolution, visit this place and you'll also be paying at par with the best cafes for a truly traumatising experience. Attaching a picture of our pizza slice, as a memoir of this mind numbing day.

A cafe that has it's decor and influence of cowboy culture.  Located very close to lords more beautiful decor , creative posters and soothing music defines The Tavern Cafe Talking about the ambience they have beautifully put up their interiors and kept their lights dim which is soothing and matches perfectly with their theme . This cafe is divided into 3 parts , one is the outdoor section where there is a swing to sit . The outdoor seating area is beautifully decorated with graffiti walls and a wooden bench . Then there are 2 indoor seating which includes a private room where you can celebrate your private parties . What I ordered Peri peri chicken pizza Arrabiata pasta Blue killer Kitkat shake Who doesn't like pizza ? This peri peri pizza is highly recommended as it had an amazing cheese pull. The pizza was loaded with chicken and lots of cheese . The chicken pieces were finely tossed in peri peri sauce and it was dense and juicy Arrabiata pasta - it was creamy and will definitely satisfy your taste buds Blue killer-must try ? Kitkat shake
