★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My son had submitted a sample for Covid-19 RT PCR testing at 12.47PM on April 22nd. It was critical that he get it before his flight to UAE which was 36 hours later and as per the latest UAE regulations that the sample submitted must no older than 48 hours. Thyrocare in Kalyan Nagar committed to delivering the report in 24 hours based on which my son submitted the sample. However, they did not deliver in 24 hours. This caused a lot of distress at the of checking as he was denied due to no reports. Luckily there was a testing center inside the airport that does an express RT-PCR test which my son got done and received the results just mins before the checkin counter closed.
What we found is that Thyrocare has outsourced this to an Anand Diagnostics who only registered the sample on April 23rd and we got the results of this only after the flight landed in the UAE.
This episode caused a lot of distress and cost me almost Rs 9000 in extra charges at the airport, for the tests and the moving flights to a later time in the day!
For those who are looking to take a flight, I strongly do not recommend using Thyrocare!
