So I visited VFS global, Kolkata for my Schengen Visa on 20th Apr 2022 Read approx all the reviews before going there. As of now I would like to clarify few points. Carry cash, there's an ATM outside of building so you can get it from there as they'll ask for cash for your visa and VFS fees. Get you passport photos done in 35*40mm(for Schengen) with white background and in Matt finish. So you don't have to waste your time in VFS office. You can carry bag, but not keep any electronic item in that(headphones you can carry but if they'll see you they will ask you to put it away). I saw few people writing that they ask to put bags in locker but it was not the case. Always book appointment in early morning if possible, there will be less people. Don't wait for your number for biometrics, just check people before you are going there or not. Just get your files from the counter who has received all files and go for biometrics. They'll add sms charges by default, courier charge also if you want it. Don't take premium lounge service, if you have all the documents with you, it will be quick. For staying near, there are few hotels. Book in advance as they might charge extra bucks when you book after going there. Overall good experience with VFS, recieving texts from them for application updates. Hoping for the best. 1 star less because they are little bit slow and there is no card option(not sure, as everyone was paying on cash).

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! THEY ARE CROOKS. Went to give my biometrics for Visitor Visa in Canada. They charged me over 3000 to take an optional service (PREMIUM LOUNGE). It's clearly mentioned in their forms that it is an "OPTIONAL" service however, the lady at the desk continued repeating that it's a MANDATORY service otherwise they won't give me the token to give my biometrics. They did this to everyone who was there. It's SHOCKING and UNBELIEVABLE. Just because they have a contract with Immigration Canada, they are charging whatever they want to. It's clearly written on IRCC website that Biometric Fee of $85.00 includes everything. DO NOT PAY ANYTHING EXTRA. This is what's written in VFS Website verbatim: "If you need to provide your biometrics, the biometric fee of C$ 85.00 (per person) / C$ 170.00 (for a family of 2 or more) / C$ 255.00 (for a group of performing artists of 3 or more) covers the Visa Application Centre service charge for package transmission" Their sales tactic is calling an optional service "MANDATORY" and then harass you to give up to their demands. Absolutely Disgusting! If you really need to sell your "OPTIONAL" services as "MANDATORY" PLEASE mention that in your website. May be, contact IRCC as well so that we are all aware of your scam. DO NOT MISLEAD PEOPLE.

Cumbersome, inconvenient, inefficient. The overall experience at a VFS center is quite poor. The slots available are limited and the way they are distributed are haphazard. Every rupee spent over and above the cost of the visa seems like a waste and a ripoff. Did not get a single useful text. It took over an hour to get the biometrics done. The seating is inconvenient, the token system wasn't working properly. I can go on and on. It is unfortunate that VFS has a monopoly over visa applications. There needs to be competition so that the services improve.

Hugely disappointed. What is the point of premium service when you cannot directly have call with customer care executive in time of need. It has been more than 72 hours I have got AWB number but my passport is not collected yet. If you send them email they will reply in 3 days. And customer care number is just an automated response. There is no way you can connect with them directly even after paying hefty amount for premium service. It seems total wastage of money.

We were struggling to send our passports to the VFS office via Bluedart and in the end we visited the VFS office physically. All the staff were very respectful with their approach and supported us with quick resolution. They even ensured to call me back to ask if the issue was resolved. I am very happy with their service.

I am very disappointed with my recent experience in VFS. The staff working there are polite but SINCE COVID EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED HERE. They are now charging you around 2000 per person just to make an appointment. It felt like you are going to meet a doctor. That's not it, this is just the appointment fees to meet them not for the services you will avail WHICH WAS FREE 2 YEARS AGO. In case you missed booking an appointment for any person traveling with you, they can't help you. Even if the person has to cancel the trip, they won't care. I was applying for 6 people and had missed making an appointment for an infant. They refused to accept the passport even after offering to take the lounge service for everyone. We were not sure whether we have to book for an infant or not,so we tried calling the customer service but all lines were busy for 2 hours. Moreover, they have started a new premium service for giving lounge services charging only Rs 3000/per person. For example, If you are in line for a Biometric and you are supposed to go in, you will be told to wait as you haven't paid for the premium until all the people in the premium section complete their biometric. You will be made to feel regret for not paying for it, not because you like the services you missed but because of the way, you were treated. I had waited 1.5 hours to get my biometric done. The total time to submit your Visa is 3.5 hours unless you have paid for premium service ;) If you are carrying a helmet, get ready to pay for a locker because they won't allow you to keep it anywhere other than your lap. They will be behind you all the time so that the helmet And on top of that , when I went to pay for the Visa Fees. They were NOT ACCEPTING CARDS AGAIN AS USUAL. So, you just have to take the lift from the 5th floor to the ground floor and look for the nearest ATM. You can only withdraw 10,000 each time as it's not your Bank ATM Near you. For that also you will be charged by the bank 25 Rs per transaction after 2 times of withdrawal. Thank you VFS for such a wonderful experience. Surely, will come again.

I’m not being vain but with all humility and the nature of my work, I can take this liberty to make a statement that these guys are one of the best in the entire travel/immigration/visa approval environment. The culture which persists at the cove is unrivalled and one of its kind. What humility, ethics and courteousness; it’s remarkable. What’s even more profoundly encouraging and worthwhile to mention is the speed with which they do the work even though they’re hard pressed. Definitely one of the best prevailing workplace cultures throughout the country. Kudos and special cheers for Joy! Thanks man.

The staffs are cordial...and process is very systematic. At first they will create a coupon for you, then you have to wait at the waiting area. Then when you can see your token no. Just go to that respective counter. They will check your documents and take the original passport. After that you have to pay your visa charges. Then they will ask you to wait for some time, then they will give you all your documents in a packet to go for biometric. Then you can leave. There is a toilet and drinking water facility inside. The bad thing I felt that they didn't take my photos which I have taken with me. Instead they told me to get a photo at their studio, which charged 150 INR but very low quality printing and bad photo. They can also do photocopy charges at INR 4 per page. P.S. Don't Carry any electronic gadgets, ( except your mobile phone) as they will not allow it inside.
