β β β β β The Violin Brothers School of Music was formed by eminent musicians Deb Shankar Roy and Jyoti Shankar Roy. I have been a student from the very inception of the school. Deb Shankar Roy and Jyoti Shankar Roy, with their years of learning and experience behind them, are excellent tutors and mentors for the students. Besides, the facilities in the school are also conducive to learning and comfortable. I would recommend The Violin Brothers School of Music to anybody who wants to learn instruments like Violin, Piano, Guitar, Drums
Recently, I was one of the 20 odd violinists, who had gathered at the Academy to rehearse for an upcoming program. Rehearsing with the Violin Brothers School of music is always an enriching experience. We played two songs on the violin orchestra, prelude and interlude were in vocal chorus, while the song itself was played on the violin. The Violin Brothers come up with an innovative way to reinvent how we perceive traditional Rabindrasangeet

My teacher repeatedly taught me how to hold violin because very very important subject is holding, and now a days I'm teaching my little students with remembering my teacher words. I am learning from them still now. Now I am also a member of Violin brothers strings orchestra.

β β β β β I am learning violin with the Violin Brothers School of Music for the past 2 years. I have started my violin lessons at the age of 5 when i was in London. I had given my grade 1 examination with ABRSM. I was delighted when i came to know that I could continue to give my grades here too with the Violin Brothers School of Music. The teachers here are very warm, cordial and very friendly.
I gave my grade 3 examination this year. My parents and I reached the examination hall on 20th September. I was feeling very nervous at first but my teacher was there to console and give me courage.
I am also happy to take part in the annual concert of my music school.

β β β β β Learning violin under the guidance of my respected teachers has been an incredible journey for me. Each and every music class has been enriched by their guidance with added focus on the minute details. Even the preparatory sessions for the ABRSM grade exams have been immensely helpful. I feel proud of my association with the great maestros for the last one and half years.

β β β β β It is a place where we have the rare honour of getting the maestros as our teachers. One has to experience it to believe how the renowned Violin Brothers take their students to the very basics of playing an instrument and then guide and nurture them in steps to the elevated levels of musical accomplishment.
Any student of this great school of music will recount how the Violin Brothers regularly focus on the significance of practice to make progress in his/her musical journey. The students here also learn from their beloved teachers the importance of music in our mundane stressful life.
Be it holding an instrument or the movement of the arm, the Violin Brothers pay individual expert attention to each of their students irrespective of their level of musical skills. On many occasion, they would play a musical piece, sometimes musical classics before their students to encourage them and to set their musical imaginations. This is apart from the annual cultural program conducted by this school wherein all the students are encouraged to perform to the best of their skills. The excellent performers among them often have the privilege of performing in various prominent cultural events held in the city across the year.
I have been associated with this great school of music both as a student and father of a student for last 4 years. Without getting down to few myopic views on this school in this forum, I can only extend you a warm welcome to this temple of musical excellence.

β β β β β My son has been going to Violin Brothers School of Music since early 2019 and started training under Rohan Roy Sir and eventually under Jyoti Shankar Roy Sir. It has been a wonderful journey so far with great deal of learning! My son has progressed well under the guidance and supervision of Jyoti Shankar Sir and really looks forward to attend the Class every week with joy and enthusiasm. I am really impressed with the way Jyoti Shankar Sir teaches my son - focusing on effective bowing techniques that has really improved my son's sense of time, rhythm and intonation. Really appreciate the dedication and care with which Jyoti Shankar Sir teaches my son through each class. Throughout the Pandemic (Covid-19) induced lock-down and restrictions, the school never stopped reaching out to the students in India and abroad and switched to online classes. However, we would all look forward to going back to physical class rooms once the Pandemic has subsided in 2021.

β β β β β It is one of the finest music school in the city. Here we get great musician duo Mr Debshankar and Mr Jyotishankar as the teachers in both in violin and keyboard. They not only teach instruments but teach to love music. I had joined the school after having 4 years of learning experience, but after joining, I understand I could have learnt much more if I started there. There are many other music classes in the school in different instruments. The location is also very convenient..
The school recently conducted violin workshop by Padmavushan Dr L Subramaniam at ICCR. In Kolkata, this kind of workshop is very rare. It's a very big opportunity for the students of the school

β β β β β This is my very own experience . I enrolled my child into Violin Brothers classes for more than 4 and a half years and here are all the points that I reflect on -
1. Before pandemic in offline mode we took our child there every Sunday afternoon and he was taught by the younger brother Jyotishankar Roy and was barely taught for 10 minutes and we had to wait for two and half hours as the class was repeatedly interfered by several phone calls, adda and many more and if he failed to deliver the piece perfectly then he would be rudely discouraged by the short tempered man.
2. In the online mode the classes deteriorated even further as he frequently changed the time period and was often irregular and would blame on our child saying that he was irregular and the discouragement continued.
All in all he failed to grow the child's interest into music they might be great musicians but they aren't exactly the best teachers and if you would like to grow your child's interest into Violin music then please consult other teachers as well before consulting the so called best violin institution in Kolkata.
