★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It used to be one of the most happening places in New Delhi. They shifted the library to basement from the top floor, since then the library has lost it's ambiance and the vibe - not sure if it has been shifted back to its original place or not.
Library has a decent collection of books (mostly American) but limited collection as far some categories are concerned.
It provides the right atmosphere to read/good place for students and research scholars.
I have always loved visiting the American library.

Given one star less for there guards they are really strict one of them don't know manners at all.

Also, use gate number 3, of barakhamba metro station to approach the American centre/(library)
