Most of the puja committee come here to making the Vassan ceremony after completing the puja rituals especially on the occasion of Durga puja far end from the Kolkata based puja committee. This place is really awesome for the photography purpose in puja vassan occasions.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It situated in babughat, kolkata..Usually very clean ghat of Hooghly river..but after the immersion of the deities it became dirty..But thanks to KMC, they make it clean as soon as possible..Seating arrangement is also available here..The view of hooghly river is very good from this site..

It is used by locals for bathing

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Riverside wharf is one of the traditional spots of Kolkata, specially known for immersion of durga idol on the last day of bengali's largest and most celebrated festival and also one of the biggest wharfs of the city. Recently the government has beautified the surrounding area and made the place a good roaming place, specially the beauty glows out during night. Also it is an attractive place for the people love to take snaps through their camera.
It is connected with the nearby Babughat with a narrow bridge which was constructed with a beautiful structural outlook. But somehow the place becomes nasty due to common people, as anyone can see going there, they throw frowzy flower, fruits, food items, wash clothes, bath and at the end of day pollute the water and nearby places. Municipality should take strict steps regarding polluting this way as it destroys the beautiful look of the beautified ghat...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is a very popular place for immersion of idol in river Ganga. The place is in kolkata close to Maidan and Dharmtala at central Kolkata. A gentle slope has been made from road level to water level of the river. The water level is accessible from the road through the slope in both high tide and low tide period. That is why immersion in this Ghat is so easy and comfortable. A good and organized arrangement made by Kolkata Police, Kolkata Municipal Corporation and Kolkata Port Trust at the time of immersion particularly at Durga Puja. In order to maintain environmental regulations the idols are removed from the water as soon as it touch the water. Adjacent to the slope part a horizontal area is there to perform the last minute 'pradakshin'.
