★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ballygunge junction is one of the important station in the south section of Sealdah railway.
There are 4 platforms, but 1,2,3 are mainly in use. The platform 1 is the down route, one can get local trains towards Sealdah and platform 2 is up route, train towards budge budge, namkhana, jadavpur, sonarpur, Baruipur, diamond harbour and canning.
Sometimes there are some connecting trains towards dum dum( bypassing sealdah).
This station is always crowded.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a junction station located in the urbane area of the south section railway line with respect to the Sealdah junction. This is a very crowded place, like any other rail station in India, but the main reason behind liking this place is that it's maintained quite clean, for which credit should go to the staffs of Indian railways and the casual labours as well. An important characteristic of this junction is that there's a platform here (probably platform number 3) which has a newly built overbridge corresponding to it and noticably smaller number of locomotives arrives or departs from this platform.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The platform is very much well sheltered. The station possesses many facilities including water and sanitation. It is well connected to the SH-1. There is a proper approach road to this station, Ballygunge Junction railway station is one of the busiest railway stations in the Sealdah railway division. More than 150 pairs of EMU local trains pass through the railway station on a daily basis.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the busiest stations in South Eastern railway section. So always crowdy. also many stalls on the platforms. There is frequent ticket checking. So never visit here without a ticket

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ballygunge station is a small station in South kolkata.it remains very crowded during office hours.this station is well connected to Gariahat.it is a junction because the budge budge line and Sonarpur line divides from here.overall the station is well maintained.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Thus, what we mean by junction is not Baliganj junction. Here also the train does not stop for more than 40-50 seconds and even if it does, only if another train passes. However, the platform is large, but a little congested. There are 4 platforms in total. Trains from Sealdah to Laxmikantpur, Diamond Harbor, Canning, Namkhana and Budge Budge stop here. But now the number of trains is less and a lot of crowd. However, the station is fairly good.
