Many Melas are held yearly in Central Park, Salt Lake, Kolkata area. The place is well maintained. Car parking is good as well. Recently the infrastructure is being improved. Accessibility with respect to wheelchair user is there only partially. A wheelchair user can visit the Mela but may not be able to access all stalls without help from others.

A very good place for organising fair. The great kolkata book fair is organized in this ground. Even Ahare Bangla, Hostoshilpo Mela are also organized in this place. This place is just beside the Karunamoyee bus stand, so can be easily located. I recently went there for Ahare Bangla 2019. It was an amazing experience. I tried: Crispy quail 100/- Roasted Rabbit 30/- Quail egg devil 40/- Smoked squid 114/- Mixed fruit juice 60/- Pizza Phuchka 80/- Badsahi Turkey 100/- Baked Rasogolla 30/- (2pcs)

Ahare Bangla 2019, is a food festival that is hosted at the Bidhannagar Mela Ground. This place is located just beside the Karunamayee Metro Station. The festival started from 19th November 2019 and will continue till 24th November 2019. Its a vast open ground where they have built huge 5 tents, named Hall-A,B,C,D and E. And even there numerous number of stalls lined up outside the tents. There are almost 120 stall. The basic concept of this festival is that almost all of the popular foodie favourite locations or restaurants in Kolkata come up at one place and showcase their foods. Its like a huge open buffet. We went there in the evening. This area is open from 12pm to 9pm. You can have lunch, evening snacks and dinner. At Hall E, from Apanjan, we had Fish Fry(Rs 120) and Chicken Barbeque(Rs 90), then from Bawarchi we had Murgh Pahari Kebab(Rs 150) and Fish Finger(Rs 90), and from Poush Parban we had Vetki Pathuri (Rs 120). At Prova Paan Store we had Paan (Rs 50). At Hall C, from Pithe Bilashi we had Mango-Nolen Patisapta(Rs 50), Nolen Baked Patisapta (Rs 60) and Coconut Kheer Patisapta (Rs 50). At Hall A, from Mountain Retreat we had Zafrani Rice (Rs 70) and Mutton (Rs 150). And the finally before coming out had icecreams from Mother Dairy counters. One stall requires some special mention. There was a stall from Russia with Russian Cuisine and a Russian Lady was managing the counter. Overall it was a great experience and great evening spent. Perfect destination for foodies and food vloggers.

So much specious ground with well decor and with easy communication. It can be used for mass gathering, musical concert, and mostly for various kind of fairs. It attracts a lot of people from Kolkata and people from other cities as well. People from different countries come and set up their stalls here. Some of the countries include Turkey, Bangladesh, Afganistan, etc. I visited here in the time of book fair..there was over 500 stalls with a huge collection of books from different countries. Food stalls are also good. And the most importantly they provide plenty of drinking water to everyone.

Public transportation needs to get better. If you don't have personal vehicle - then it could be difficult to find suitable accommodation during the rush time of weekend
