★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is the first station (while going "up" or towards bangaon or hasnabad) after the bangaon/hasnabad line diverges right after dumdum junction station.
It is also a major station, galloping trains have have stoppage here.
Dumdum Cantonment local also starts from here at around 10am (check timetable for updated schedules) for Sealdah.
Connecting vehicles to Belgachia metro can be availed here, namely 30D bus. This bus terminates at babughat.
Share auto for nagerbazar is available from here.
E-rickshaws, toto etc are available in adequate frequency.
After about a 400m walk towards jasoda bastralaya from the station, auto for goruhata (also near nagerbazar) becomes available.
Just a little further, starts auto for airport and further away, starts auto for sukur ali more.
Within half a kilometre of the station most major banks and respective ATMs are available.
Nearby a new pantaloons showroom has opened.
Market is withing half a kilometre of the station on either side of the rail track.
Some Schools are also situated nearby, or at least within easily accessible transport distance from the station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The station is in 24 Parganas (North), West Bengal. Its a small railway station with three platforms and two tracks. Trains from Sealdah like Bongaon Local, Hasnabad Local, Barasat Local, Dutta Pukur Local etc. takes around 17 minutes to reach hear after Dum Dum. The next rail station is Durganagar . Entrance of this station is not very good. This rail station is 1 km (approx) far from Jessore Road and 4 km (approx) from Dum Dum Airport (Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice and clean railway station. Was not aware that there are actually 2 stations in Dum Dum until I passed by this one. The platforms are well maintained and the ticket counter is ample so as to maintain social distancing. Road around the station are wide and easy to drive on.

The station consists of three platforms. The platform is very much well sheltered with newly installed seating arrangements and fans. It still lacks many facilities including proper water availability and clean sanitation.
Dum Dum Cantonment is located on Sealdah–Hasnabad–Bangaon–Ranaghat line of Kolkata Suburban Railway. Link between Dum Dum to Khulna now in Bangladesh, via Bangaon was constructed by Bengal Central Railway Company in 1882–84.It was named by the cantonment area near Dum Dum.The Sealdah–Dum Dum–Barasat–Ashok Nagar–Bangaon sector was electrified in 1963–64.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My biggest happiness of this place is that this place has my maternal uncle's house (in Bengali 'Mamar Bari'). Since childhood I have been used to crave for staying there as the ambience, atmosphere and surroundings are all perfect and Dum Dum Cantonment Railway Station has been my biggest support to maintain relationship between us and them. My Mamar Bari is at Laxmi Narayan Road... 10 mins from this station via auto. Have many memories while traveling through this line to Sealdah. Will never forget Dum Dum Cantonment in my life ??☺️???♥️
