★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Karunamoyee Housing Estate (Bengali করুনাময়ী হাউসিং এস্টেট) is a housing estate located in Bidhannagar, Kolkata, constructed in two phases for higher-, middle- and lower-middle-class people who wished to settle in the newly established new town of Bidhannagar (Salt Lake). It is Asia's second largest housing estate.
Karunamoyee consists of several "blocks", which are groups of apartment buildings having the same floorplan. Phase I, constructed in the seventies, consists of blocks A through D; Phase II, constructed in the eighties, consists of blocks E, F, G, H, K, L and M with Sourv Abason in ED Block, Salt Lke, under Ward no.15.
Karunamoyee crossing, located to the north of the housing estate, has become an important transport hub because of the proximity of International Bus Centre(to Bangladesh), several government and municipal office buildings, as well as Kolkata's nascent IT industry centred in Bidhannagar's "Sector V".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A well planned residential complex right in the heart of karunamoyee which is the hub of Saltlake. Nice interconnected pitch roads, open playground, a community center shopping complex with lots of shops of daily needs. Easy accessable commute from the main road running on adjescent to all sides of the housing complex.
Few speciality hospitals are very close by. Lots of green trees and plants and yes several good eateries around too. It's for people who love little quietness around them. Best suited for people of all ages if you want to move into Kolkata.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So many old buildings with so many flats there .No perking garage inside. All cars are perked inside the strets , passeges and lanes.But there is a large perk inside. Joga classes are maintined by Mr.Chandan Ghatak of 82 yrs young man and others.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the place to stay in salt lake. There are several blocks here and each block as a couple of flats. The size of the flats depend on which block it is present. You'll find everything in it's vicinity. There is a local market,mother dairy,boutiques, parlour,police station,stationary,xerox,recharge shops here. There are huge playgrounds for kids to play in. The place is very safe and there are guards on all the gates at all point of time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Planned area with unplanned amenities. Lack of daily facilities and extrem water log during rain. No planned car parking all cars parked in front of the houses on mub/grass patches. The large bus stand also makes the place polluted if you check the pollution level.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well maintained residency. Peaceful residencial area. Openable too much parking place. But no systematic parking in this building.But no security there at meantime. Little bit insecure residency. Thiefs are always target cycle. Even at the time of both wheel is locked. Most of the time I had listened cycle missing. Local administration & police hasn't taken proper action. They are avoiding always.Lack of Water in the building after 50 years approx.??
